Atgm trials are good but what we need is "induction as well as continuous upgradation".
This last part is missing.
There is something really off, because I have not gotten any news of even one of One fifty ATAGS getting inducted.

Another 2 DRDO HPM systems under development

One mounted on a MAN based 8x8 trailer .

It's emitters are 2 wide aperture horn antennas sectoral E plane mounted on a telescopic mast.

This one will also be coupled to a BEL FCR for target detection and engagement.

2nd HPM system is mounted on a civilian 4x4 vehicle.

Its antenna is what looks like to be a Omni directional antenna and most probably UWB , therefore it is most probably for taking out civilian / commercial UAVs within its zone of operation.

MoDAnnual2019 confirms that DRDO's SFDR uses a boron based sustainer to deliver specific impulse of 1000 - 1200 sec in ramjet mode.

The missile can engage aerial targets at ranges of 70 - 340 km.

It is always easy to to control the liquid fuel ramjet engine with because you can control the flow of fuel as well as oxidizer but the shortcoming is lower power. The Missile like sfdr uses solid fuel which give the day higher power but controlabicontr
becomes the issue. It is overcome by controlling the the flow of air buy a special mechanism to either increase oror decrease the flow of air and hence the combustion of solid fuel. Meteor uses the same mechanism to control it's maneuvers and achieve high "g" value.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) chief Satheesh Reddy while speaking to media, asserted on Friday that India will become self-reliant in defence production in the next 5 years and wandered off and mentioned Mark 2 RV stealth aircraft program which he called being revolved from the previous LCA program which raised more eyebrows and questions which media in question failed to follow up with. What is Mark 2 RV Stealth Aircraft program Dr. Reddy was talking about? Is it a new internal name for India’s 5th generation AMCA stealth program? if so why it has been called Mark 2 ! and what does ‘RV’ stands for ?. This revelation has sparked an internet debate among defense enthusiasts in India but due to lack of official confirmation or denials it also has created many rumors which have been floating around. Aero India 2019 saw India for the first time unveiling Tejas AF Mk 2 Medium Weight Fighter. MWF has been pitched as a Medium multirole fighter which potentially will replace entire Dassault Mirage 2000H, Jaguar and Mig-29UPG fleet in IAF. Tejas AF Mk 2 MWF is an enhanced version of the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) which now comes with a maximum take-off weight of 17.5 tonnes and also has enhanced weapons carrying capacity of 6.5 tonnes, and it is equipped with a higher thrust General Electric GE-F414-INS6 engine and has additional features like infrared search-and-track (IRST) sensor, a missile approach warning system (MAWS), and an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar. Tejas AF Mk 2 MWF can’t be categorized as a Stealth aircraft nor does it have any stealth features of the typical 5th generation fighter aircraft. at best it can be defined as 4.5++ Generation aircraft but as Soon as Aero India 2019 was over they were unconfirmed reports in the media about the possible development of single-engined stealth aircraft alongside Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project. I had previously reported (Why Media is saying that India is working on Single-engined LCA-5th Generation?) on how India might be using Tejas AF Mk 2 MWF as a baseline design to develop stealth aircraft. IAF Chief initially had said that requirement in IAF for Tejas AF Mk 2 MWF class fighter aircraft is around 200 in number but quickly revised his numbers to around 108 units. Tejas AF Mk 2 MWF program already has Mk2 in its designation and it has been speculated that RV stands for ‘Revised Version’ for the Mark 2 program which will involve the integration of the Stealth features discussed in above-mentioned link to the previous report. While we are yet to get an official confirmation on Mark 2 RV Stealth Aircraft program yet, we can only hope that more information is made available to the public shortly soon

It is nice to see that new generation weapons are being developed and tested successfully. Whatever DRDO isis developing today onward is is a cutting edge Technology at par with the best in the world look at SFDR, SANT anti tank missile, new generation AIP. All are best in its class. SANT with MMR seeker will provide a great range of 18 KM for any anti tank missile with great accuracy. DRDO AIP is also top class and much advance than AIP used by China. Uttam has also reached testing phase. DRDO is doing a great job. They just need to do that fast.

One other thing induction must happen, learn as you go.
This is the norm everywhere don't know why india military does not follow it.

Our arm forces has a very limited budget. That's why they do not allow any partially developed product to be inducted into the armed forces and they always insist that only fully developed product should come in, which they can use for decades without the product getting obsolete.

Do you mean Aura? (Aurora is a Boeing/Nasa project).

A prototype (smaller in dimensions) is supposed to take flight in the next 2-3 years.
I think it's SWIFT you are talking about!
Wasn't that supposed to fly by next year?

Indo-German project on advanced composite materials launched



An international project to manufacture components with superior mechanical and physical properties for the automotive and aerospace sectors has been launched at the CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST) here.

The Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC)-funded collaborative project on ‘Advanced fibre reinforced metallic composite’ focuses on a joint programme of Near Net Manufacturing of Aluminium Composites (NearNetMAC).

‘Nearnet-shape’
The IGSTC explains it as ‘design and development of nearnet-shape manufacturing process for light-weight, high-strength aluminium composite and engineering components by squeeze infiltration technique for automotive and aerospace applications.’

‘Near net shape’ is an industrial manufacturing technique that implies that the initial production of an item is very close to the final (net) shape, reducing the need for surface finishing.

The new project at CSIR-NIIST will seek to develop light weight near-net shape carbon fibre-reinforced aluminium composites and components for automotive and aerospace applications, says A Ajayaghosh, Director.

The project consortium includes CSIR-NIIST as the Indian institute participant; Fenfe Metallurgicals, Bengaluru, the Indian industry; Institute of Textile Technology, RWTH Aachen University, academic partner of Germany; and CIKONI Gmbh, Stuttgart, German industrial partner.

Transport sector
Amool Raina, Head of Aerospace and Manufacturing Programme, RWTH Aachen University, hoped that this will lead to new process and material development for making connecting rods and thermal management heat sinks for the transport sector.

Sundara Murthy, President, Fenfe Metallurgicals, and former president, Institute of Indian Foundrymen, Kolkata, said that the programme would aid the cause of advanced technology, product development and manufacturing and the ‘Make in India’ drive.

TPD Rajan, principal project investigator from the Indian side and principal scientist, said that the programme brings in the expertise of hitech fibre technology, pre-form processing of the German Institute, and the liquid metal processing of light-weight metal matrix composite of CSIR-NIIST to develop components with superior mechanical and physical properties.

A mini symposium on advanced composite materials held following the programme launch saw Philipp Huber, Goezdem Dittel and Yanick Schlesinger, research scientists from RWTH Aachen University, deliver technical lectures. S Savithri, Chief Scientist and Head, Materials Science and Technology Division, spoke on the occasion

SAM, AAM or even Ballistic missiles for that have two distinct phases. Power On, where the thrust is there by engine burn out. Then comes a Power Off or stall phase where the engine thrusts are cut off and the missile simply carry on its earlier momentum gained by Power On mode. The pulsed rocket motor is the prime example.

SMART is new thing never heard of it nor any navy has this kind of missile ,650KM range,the drdo developing X Band radars would be most probably used for target acquisition
Heard of Rocket Assisted Torpedo?

As @Enquirer already informed, it is nothing new. Just that the range is too good to be believe as of now. May be 600 Km is for surface ship. The anti submarine version would have much lower range.

4. from no antiradiation missile to NGARM (developer trials)
5. from Dhruv Mk1 to Dhruv MkIII (inducted), Rudra(inducted), LCH(LSP), LUH (LSP), IMRH (design)
6. from no 152mm artillery guns to Sarang (ordered), Dhanush(ordered), two ATAGS (undergoing field tests)
7. from no ABM to Ashwin (second generation design and testing), PDV (third generation design and testing), AD1 (design), AD2 (design), ASAT (proven).
8. from no PGMs to pgms from 125 kgs to 1000kgs, from 30 km to 100 km ranges.
9. World class combat gear.
10. Ships: too many to list (yes production rate is slow).
11. Strategic missiles: too many to list.
12. Radar systems: too many to list.
13. military vehicles: too many to list.

Frankly, today, DRDO can take on the design of any missile or radar system and complete it in 5-10 years. be it a shoulder launched anti air missile or a short range A2A missile. We have crossed the threshold. Similarly HAL can take on a helicopter design and finish it in 10-15 years. Navy design bureau take up design of any ship and finish it in 10-15 years. All these are world class products in world class time. Yeah production rates require focus.

We have yet to turn the leaf on combat aircraft, UAVs, tanks, fire-arms, attack submarines, all terrain TEL, civil and transport aircraft.

On the first four we are about 5 years away from reaching that critical mass. The latter four, I don't have a good feeling. At least 15 years away.
