chinese roads are more accessible than indian's and hence chinese can have multi axle mounts all the time. as they have to traverse the plains and valleys mostly. whereas in the Indian case, it is sharp turn mountains and mountains only, so light and compact vehicles and solutions are required. provided the IAF can airlift the kalyani's more easily than that of chinese. we all seeing what is happeining with the mounted artillery guns in the ukraine war, and in himalyan sector, Indian side needs more mobility than the chinese.

chinese vehicles can accelerate faster due to somewhat low inclinations in the terrain and plains mostly. while the Indian side needs to traverse the 10 times more difficult terrains during conflict. and hence they should be somewhat lighter in their category.
Add to these facts the bridges near the LAC have been designed to carry not more than 17-18 tons of weight IIRC. Apparently the thinking is if these areas fall the Chinese won't be able to move in their artillery freely or at all whereas our light artillery will be able to traverse these areas with ease either by road or air.

I've a strong feeling high altitude mini & micro drones along with loitering munitions would've a huge role to play in mountain warfare since regular artillery , tanks , rocket forces , the air force etc while invaluable would have a limited role to play as compared to the role these elements would have in the plains .

Agreed but as the private cos are getting involed from the called ToT (know how, know why etc) we should expecr some future products.

China mastered this art and now much ahead of Europe in tech and threatening US dominance. From supercomputer to EMALs, from UCAVs to hypersonics, from quantum computing to ChatGPT, from could computing to space race... everywhere. They might be our number one enemy but hatts off to them for this achievements. We should learn.
China is not a real enemy. India just wants to prevent China from being a sole superpower and again play world games like USA-USSR. Indian intent is to simply create multilateralism where no single country is dominant. As for technology is concerned, China is nearly catching up to USA. China has been relentless & their work ethics unparalleled. China also has huge resource base which gives them an advantage India does not have

Are you sure of this? It does not make sense as even common bridges in cities carry much more than 20 tons. Just 2 bus full of passengers weigh 20 tons, for your reference.

These are last mile connectivity bridges mostly for military applications along the LAC not ones used commonly for urban transportation by civilians.

Even then, 17-20 ton limit is very rare. India used to have such doctrine during Congress times. It could be a real fear of China or a ploy to bring missionaries to NE and keep it underdeveloped. BJP does not follow such policies. It is absurd to think that China will take over the roads as even the best bridges and roads can be destroyed in minutes. Why make life difficult for decades for that? Build big bridges for use during peacetime and during war, destroy them if in losing situation.

Can you compare Making one 4th gen jet to a company who has produced multiple 4th to 5th gen jets ?
India also prodiced Marut which was a great fighter at that time. But it was not taken foward. Also Chinese companies did produced only J-10 than now have two 5th gen fighters and multiple UCAVs and developing 6th gen fighters as well.

Honestly US way of working is something different. Even in 2000s skunk works and LM may have started on 6th Gen tech.

Never seen US playing file pushing when it comes to Defence. It is just well organized Sector where things will move on its own.

Only thing the US got hurt is Public Transport. Just tell them Car sucks and Railways can be electrified. They will die.
and @NoobWannaLearn as you can see how and why USA and China leading 21st century war technologies. They are vastly different than how India govt orgs like ADA, HAL work. If even decision making like CCS/DAC clearance needs years, I have nothing to say.

There should be case study courses for ADA/HAL and MoD babus on CAC, Chengdu, which is just few hundreds kilometers away from Indian border also on Lockeed and Boeing. Otherwise the way its moving, 1st AMCA will not be inducted before 2040. We can only hope Xi does not start air operations along the border before that. Else we will see same situation like IAF said, "We always knew PAF had F16 block 52 with AIM-120C5 but we were waiting for Rafale to come". lol

DAC clearance is not final right
Just beginning of commercial negotiation
So should it be celebrated?
These are like Mangal Pandey movie's "Jago re jago jago re" song, so that people do not fell asleep and keep them in tight spirit. We will hear this next year as well. "Super Sukhoi" is as old as Rahul Gandhi's career. :tongue2: Always growing up.

Frankly the points mention in the V2 brochure are common to V1 . Bharat Forges / Kalyani group's contribution has been metallurgy by bringing down the weight of the gun & by tying up with MANDUS US for the technology of soft recoil also dubbed hybrid recoil.

Apparently V2 can also be adapted to different platforms though whether the same cannot be said about V1 isn't clear . It's also been adapted specifically for deployment in mountain warfare . However in what way is it adapted is also not clear. Is it the FCS & targeting system which is different in the V2 as compared to the V1 ?

View attachment 230459
The difference in between V1 and V2 is the platform itself. V2 has been designed by keeping in mind transportability, movement and weight. FCS and automation too has improved in it.
