Not good
It's been discussed to the death that We need heavy press for churning out lighter bulkheads and other componenets. Not good
A guy in the comments says even 3d printing is sufficientIt's been discussed to the death that We need heavy press for churning out lighter bulkheads and other componenets.
30-40k Tonne press costs 150-200M$ . Considering the exponential growth in our defence and aerospace investment, I hope govt invests into till Tejas MK2 reaches to mass production stage. Same press can be utilised further for TEDBF AND AMCA.
I don't know if we can achieve same strength and density with 3D printing.A guy in the comments says even 3d printing is sufficient
Exactly. saw one years back in a heavy manf industry. MoD is late but start developing now.Heavy Press is low tech but high investment project. Govt needs to step in
I guess for the IA & MoD , what happens in Ukraine stays in Ukraine.Ammunition stocking is generally done in terms of requirements for intense wars and normal wars and broadly factors in 30 days of intense fighting and 30 days of normal fighting.
For the time being considering we're going in for prototypes surely those components can be fabricated abroad where such facilities are available thru vendors preferably in Europe though Russia has 1 or 2 of these very heavy presses. It's been discussed to the death that We need heavy press for churning out lighter bulkheads and other componenets.

BC that's just 70K $ ..
Yepp and I am just happy it's happening should have happened by now but whatever better late than sorryBC that's just 70K $ ..
even if it's some technically correct very miniscule basic integration, American MIC would n't want world to know about this deal ..
Maybe bidders want experience rather than money , so they are taking up some losses in this deal.
