FM-90 (surface to air) Missile System.35 It can operate in all types of weather to shoot
down unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles and neutralize electronic control meas-
ures (ECM). The induction of FM-90 Missile System confirms that Pakistan is work-
ing on the idea of deterrence by denial.

FM-90 is the Chinese clone of 1960s vintage French Crotale SAM, having a range of less than 10 km against fighters. Exfart here thinks it can shoot down Ballistic Missiles.

These kind of "research papers" by Pakistani "Strategic Extarts" (From the likes of PISS- Pakistan Institute of Strategic Studies, that is) are hilarious to say the least.

Pakis got the same "Think Tank" Money-spinning industry as the US commensurate to its economic size, while having a tiny fraction of US' military budget/ military capabilities/ military- industrial complex.

Be that as it may , their recent strategy of planning for deployment of N tipped CMs aboard the under construction subs of Chinese origin to give them land sea & air based delivery mechanisms as per their calculations is something that went under the radar though Nitin Gokhale did a few programs on it .

That's their new gambit . We need to come up with a strategy & put it in place ASAP. As of now we're still in the process of procurement of MCMVs & Project 75 (I) for the nth time . Nor are there any concrete steps for expanding our procurement of 3-6 more Scorpenes , just plenty of indications on it.

Further in all this rush to finalize our procurement of drones for all 3 arms the requirement for 6 more P-8 I Poseidon ASW aircrafts seems to be in the cold storage as of now . Then there're plans to base a few of them at a base in Mauritius / Seychelles in the not so distant future. This is in addition to the duties these aircrafts are expected to perform in the Indo Pacific primarily in choke points at Malacca , Lombok & the Sunda straits. How exactly are we going to go about distributing resources to handle all these separate theatres is unknown at this point in time .
