sometimes it looks like Germany's acquisition process is much slower than ours. They are procuring this now, when we already had this few years back.

most of europes military procurement policies and military issues are way worse than ours and that says something. only france is somewhat better and focused and even they do not have the mass for a major war alone. if all of europe combines the would barely have the resources and men to last as much as Ukraine did till now and that was mostly with ukraine suffering a lot of causalities in men which would exceed the no of men available for European countries and A LOT of help from the arsenals of decommissioned vehicles of the US and third parties using russian vehicles. once those arsenals are dry, it is going to be trouble.

Also most european countries and the US have much higher procurement cost per system for some reason compared to us even after accounting for the different standards.

In the case of germany, their military is not treated seriously by them in all aspects of society even though they have a solid r and d base. goes to show that culture and priority also matter.
