SFDR is the tech. Missiles would be developed based on this tech. There would be AAM and SAM.Can't it be used as SAM? The range is going to be fairly good and act as a stop gap arrangement till XRSAM is active
Is there any project for SFDR based SAM? Sorry, have no clue in this regard. Have only heard of Astra Mk3 AAMSFDR is the tech. Missiles would be developed based on this tech. There would be AAM and SAM.
We have already fabricated Ground based launcher for it.Is there any project for SFDR based SAM? Sorry, have no clue in this regard
SFDR has nozzlless integrated boosterBooster accelerates the missile to Supersonic speed so that Ramjet kicks in
What if aircraft launched ramjet missile during subsonic speed and low altitude ?Means for trials only. AAM get momentum speed of aircraft for initial acceleration.
So I meant to ask, what are they testing in booster? Booster is not an integral part of SFDR. ( Atleast this monstrous booster)
Ramjets cannot generate thrust when stationary.Means for trials only. AAM get momentum speed of aircraft for initial acceleration.

What if aircraft launched ramjet missile during subsonic speed and low altitude ?
All ramjet missile uses booster[to my knowledge] and meteor also uses booster. Integral or another stage depends on tech/missile req.
Booster will be an integrated part of BVRAAM. Booster is needed as not all flight profile of the aircraft carring BVRAAM is capable to ignite or sustain ramcombustor.Means for trials only. AAM get momentum speed of aircraft for initial acceleration.

Yes, you are correct. What if aircraft launched ramjet missile during subsonic speed and low altitude ?

No. As per the JV agreement, engine & seeker would be Russian. Even if we are able to make one, which we already did with seeker & LFRJ coming next, Brahmos as whole would use Russian engine. The seeker would also be Russian, although we have few specialised seeker. But it would not be there in export version.
