Why do we need jdam when hsld is present?
Makes for export and maybe for emergency order(seems unrealistic)
Guud Kuesion.....

Look at the weight category of the bomb for which we have prepared Guidance kit. They are of 450 kg and 900 kg. With Guidance kit, the 450 kg bomb weighs around 520 to 530 kg. The 900 kg becomes 1000 kg.

Now have a look at Tejas payload category. How many such bombs Tejas could carry at a time? On other hand how many 250 or 270 kg JDAM bomb it could carry in similar configuration?

It would for sure help in export market, but it would also solve our own purpose at the same time.

Since assm hammer was also considered for lca(hammer is rocket powerdand also has 350kg and 250), so I thought jdam wudnt be needed.

Just remembered the fact that assm cost 5x jdam, so makes sense.

We paid 400 crores more for each apache ...... 6 * 400 crore = 2400 crores

In 2015, 22 Apaches now completely delivered to the IAF cost INR 14,910 crores or US $2.1 billion, but now for the follow-on IA contract of six choppers, which is a pitifully small number, India will shell out INR 6,600 crores or roughly US $890 million. Indeed, a platform which should have cost an estimated INR 678 crores per chopper ended up costing INR 1,100 crores for the IA because the IAF and the IA did not make the buy collectively, which would have kept the price of each AH-64E well under INR 1000 crores and saved the Indian exchequer good money.

Lots of speculation by members here about MRSAM, my two cents.

Range b/w 80-100 km, based on LRSAM and similarities with MRSAM tested recently.

Speed Mach 2 or whereabouts for the most part. Could be hypersonic for part of the duration in shorter ranges, but for most of the time no.
Mach 2 initial phase, over mach 5 after dual pulse motor kicks in.
