As you know that's CGI, not a real robot.
sure anything is possible, since proof of concept(without the weapons handling part) has already been made by boston dynamics.

As far as India is concerned, Indian military has not reached that stage of advanced thinking.

41 domestic defence vendor proposals worth Rs 86,623 crore approved since May 2020: Govt

Forty-one proposals of domestic defence vendors worth Rs 86,623 crore have been approved by the central government since May last year for capital procurement, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said on Wednesday.

He was responding to a question on the procurement started in the defence sector under the Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme of the Centre.


"Total 41 AoN (Acceptance of Necessity) worth Rs 86,623.55 crore have been accorded to domestic vendors for capital acquisition since May 2020, Bhatt said.

"For the year 2021-22, the allocation of domestic procurement has been enhanced compared to the previous year, and this year, it is about 64.09 per cent of the allocated amount for military modernisation (Rs 71,438.36 crore), he said.

Approvals don’t mean anything in India. Where the tyre meets the road (orders and contracts) is where these things fall short every time.

@porky_kicker the missile we saw in test of akash ng was pure cylinderical with radome nose cone , but a earlier picture sgared in wing tunnel testing is not proper cylinder ,it was quite different , so is it possible what we were thinking of as akash ng was actually a xrsam missile , and the fin position led us to believe that it was xrsam ??

Yes but do you think, looking at that sort of dimension for a missile, it will cover >200kms even if it's a DPRM?? The quoted range for XR-SAM as per DRDO was upto 350kms.

Yes but do you think, looking at that sort of dimension for a missile, it will cover >200kms even if it's a DPRM?? The quoted range for XR-SAM as per DRDO was upto 350kms.
I thought it wasn't akaksh ng , rechecked it , it might be camera angle distortion . On side note , i think a booster added version with bigger body can hit that range

An interesting observation

I came across this paper while randomly googling stuff about random stuff
This is about development of cockpit ergonomics and s study made by umrikis about different pilot body types and cockpits, and how it affects performance of the pilots
Some key takeaways:-
>The addition of these cases expanded the range of acceptable height to between 58 and 77 inches tall, and sitting height to between 31 and 40 inches tall. The cases allow for an easy reference of body size. The USAF can reference these case numbers and require access to specific controls and specific head, shin and ejection clearances during Request for Proposal for new aircraft
>As the military includes more measurement requirements for the same individual
e.g., thumb tip reach, sitting height and buttock-knee length, it limits the amount of the population that can actually fit into the percentages. Gordon, Corner and Brantley (1997) posit that if a requirement states that one individual must fit within the 5%-95% range for 5 different measurements, this may actually only accommodates 67% of the population.
> the concerns for larger pilots including overhead clearances, ejection envelopes, body interference with controls, body interference reaching for controls and shin clearance.

>the largest concerns for smaller pilots include reaching emergency controls, external field of view, and full rudder and brake operating range.

I wonder what DRDO/HAL is doing when it comes to studying of body types of Indian pilots, and making sure the cockpits fits the profile instead making a one size fits all approach, I believe the Americans are way ahead of us in this regard, I tried googling DRDO stuff along the similar lines, no luck so far

Selection standards doesn't mean maximum capability of the pilot is exploited by the cockpit and vice versa

>my point was concerning the development of cockpits in upcoming aircraft keeping in mind the body types and just not going at it with 80s or 90s standards

According to a top official, the Army is conceiving the project under the strategic partnership route, in which the Indian vendors can collaborate with foreign companies. But the DRDO is pitching to get it done through its Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment, the main laboratory involved in the development of armoured fighting vehicles. DRDO believes that the CVRDE has the core competency in developing the required technology. Notably, the CVRDE, which is based at Avadi in Chennai, is the developer of India's indigenous Arjun tank.
