Proof of pudding is in tasting it rest badi badi baatien vadapaav khaate.ATAGS is an excellent gun but army wants it to be more versatile, lighter in weight and maintence friendly. Good part is that Tata and Kalyani makes it so changes will be faster. It will be cleared for mass production and will serve Indian army for atleast 4 decades. Since it is tested for extreme conditions, it will be fit for operation for any country without much change and will be exported in big numbers.
Explain a bit more or get lost….Proof of pudding is in tasting it rest badi badi baatien vadapaav khaate.

DEKHTE HAI...Army has accepted it and promised to order it after some tweaks. Your opinion doesn't have any base.
We are facing such troubles because our focus has been to get the required armament . We should shift the focus to create world class MIC . We are on verge of achieving this with respect to artillery with kalyani . Once we have a proper MIC which ll have global costumers, half of our problem with regards to quality , delivery of products ll be solved . And can be crusial during a long tiring war .I think OFB was to manufacture 114 Dhanush Howitzers in 3 years and they manufactured only 5. Subsequently it seems with 6 prototypes and few more manufactured, a Regiment has been constituted. OFB has not been able to meet Army annual rolling requirement for basic things like:-
1.Trichy rifle
2. GMAG GPMG
3. HMG
4. Carl Gustaf RCL, it’s ammo
5. upgrade of 130mm Guns
6. Dhanush Howitzers
7. UBGL ammo
8. Pinaka rockets (pvt sector had to be roped in after 10 yr delay) etc

Are you using IE?We seriously either need to disband OFB or sell them to private companies so they will be rewarded based on performance criteria instead of some commie/socialist crap criteria.
care to explain your question? Are you using IE?
OFB has already been disbanded, there is no OFB now.care to explain your question?
They have been disbanded but they still exist as PSUs. Govt should do an IPO & sell its stake in the PSU. Each of these PSUs has a lot of assets so the IPO will do fine. Whosoever takes them over will need to figure out how they can be competitive.OFB has already been disbanded, there is no OFB now.
Govt dissolves OFB, transfers employees and assets to 7 PSUs
defence ministry has dissolved the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) with effect from October 1 and transferred its assets, employees and management to seven public sector units (PSUs), according to an official order. As part of the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (self-reliant India) package, the central...defenceforumindia.com
