Most Andronovo mtdna belong to haplogroup U ( U2e1h U2e U4 U5). Her sister HG which probably split from others 50000BP was found in Harappa U2b2

😉

I wouldn't be surprised if Y HG R also split ages ago and created separate Indeginous mutations.

I am surprised they didn't claim Harappan women to be from Europe 😉

Haplogroup U2 has been found in the remains of a 37,000 and 30,000-year-old hunter-gatherer from the Kostyonki, Voronezh Oblast in Central-South European Russia., in 4800 to 4000-year-old human remains from a Beaker culture site of the Late Neolithic in Kromsdorf Germany, and in 2,000-year-old human remains from Bøgebjerggård in Southern Denmark. However, haplogroup U2 is rare in present-day Scandinavians. The remains of a 2,000-year-old West Eurasian male of haplogroup U2e1 was found in the Xiongnu Cemetery of Northeast Mongolia.

We found that more than 80% of the Indian mtDNA lineages belong to either Asian-specific haplogroup M (60.4%) or Western-Eurasian-specific haplogroups H, I, J, K, U and W (20.5%), while the remaining 19.1% of lineages do not belong to any of the previously established mtDNA haplogroups.

R1a (51.5%), H (16.2%) and L (15.8%) were the major haplogroups present throughout the country and accounted for more than three-fourths of the Y lineages.

According to some accounts of the Akkadian Empire ruler Rimush, he fought against the troops of Meluhha, in the area of Elam:

"Rimuš, the king of the world, in battle over Abalgamash, king of Parahshum, was victorious. And Zahara and Elam and Gupin and Meluḫḫa within Paraḫšum assembled for battle, but he (Rimush) was victorious and struck down 16,212 men and took 4,216 captives. Further, he captured Ehmahsini, King of Elam, and all the nobles of Elam. Further he captured Sidaga'u the general of Paraḫšum and Sargapi, general of Zahara, in between the cities of Awan and Susa, by the "Middle River". Further a burial mound at the site of the town he heaped up over them. Furthermore, the foundations of Paraḫšum from the country of Elam he tore out, and so Rimuš, king of the world, rules Elam, (as) the god Enlil had shown..."

Very Indian sounding names 😉

However, much later texts documenting the exploits of King Assurbanipal of Assyria (668–627 BC), long after the Indus Valley civilization had ceased to exist, seem to imply that Meluhha is to be found in Africa, somewhere near Egypt.

Very Indian sounding names 😂

In the Rassam cylinder, Ashurbanipal writes about his first march against Egypt: "In my first campaign I marched against Egypt (Magan) and Ethiopia (Meluhha), and Taharqa, king of Egypt (Muṣur) and Nubia (Kûsu), whom Esarhaddon, king of Assyria, the father who begot me, had defeated, and whose land he brought under his sway." In this context, "Magan" has been interpreted as "Muṣur" (ancient name of Egypt) and "Meluhha" as "Meroe" (capital of Nubia).

How cow genomes have moo-ved
Cattle were domesticated ∼10,000 years ago, but analysis of modern breeds has not elucidated their origins. Verdugo et al. performed genome-wide analysis of 67 ancient Near Eastern Bos taurus DNA samples. Several populations of ancient aurochs were progenitors of domestic cows. These genetic lineages mixed ∼4000 years ago in a region around the Indus Valley. Interestingly, mitochondrial analysis indicated that genetic material likely derived from arid-adapted Bos indicus (zebu) bulls was introduced by introgression.

If bos indicus moved along with people of Indus shouldn't their language too move.

If Harappa was Proto-Dravidian then we should see some linguistic influence on the middle easterners.

Instead we see the arrival of Hittites & Mittani in the middle East.

Let's form a group and look into what we can get out of this exercise.

Harappan script 3500bce-1900bce
Brahmi script 500bce onwards
Khrosthi script (around the same time as Brahmi)

Nearly 1500 years without any script.
Although an Oral culture flourished during this period.

We need to first identity if the later scripts derive from Indus script. Kinda looks doubtful.

1500 years is too big a gap for Harappan descendants to carry any memory of Harappan script unless some kind of script did exist between that 1500 year period that links to Later scripts.

Worst case scenario Later scripts are entirely new systems of writing.

Then some words identified in Near East like words for Elephant and trade from Melhua.

Our work would be to find out Harappan specific items traded in Near East and their naming in those cultures.

As for Munda etymology is So. mara/ mar `peafowl'. Kh. mara `peafowl'. Sa. mara? `peafowl'. Mu. mara? `peafowl'. Ho mara? `peafowl'. Ku. mara `peafowl'. pincar marak = peacock; matu marak = peahen; marak rak = peacock crow; marak á¹ikli = the disc on the tail feathers of the peacock; korkot. marak = common peafowl. (Santali).
