Choking is not enough. These guys should be shamed obviously not in public and fired for hinderance. Also major reforms should be made in their training institution.
Even after UKR-RUS war where importance of domestic MIC clearly seen, our generals have the audacity to bargain for imported maal.

A country of 3+ trillion is just simply scrapping against PAK while the chinks having enormous number of Weapons at their disposal.
But the main villain here is IA itself who sabotaged every indigenous product and tries to get some imported products.

The day we encourage our domestic MIC and their efforts, they day we can stand against China on our own.

At a time when we were supposed to move into this

We ended up seeing this.

There is no way to justify this. The entire things looks like a crude model of BMP-2 on display.

Moving towards this is not moving at all. We are still stuck with those same shits specs and hull with only minor improvements.

This and the bmp upgrade are both massive disappointments such turret changes and atgm will barely make any difference where most of the units would be taken down by a second gen atgm hidden properly.

I'm surprised they came up with this shit after seeing how BMP's have been faring in the Russia Ukraine war.
new chinese IFV, look at the armor plating

Exactly I was basically quoting BS dhanao accent
Recently listened to the former VCAS (who was in post during the 2019 strikes) and he reiterated the same- if Rafale was there the story would’ve been different.

it’s scary how they can’t think ahead. What’s stopped them from keeping the SU-30s up to date? Always looking for the next silver bullet

Seeing this Defexpo we came a long way for indigenous weapons.

The number of products we have is mind boggling.
1. ATAGS
2. MGS
3. DHANUSH
4. MOUNTAIN ARTILLERY
5. ATGM- AMOGHA
6. ATGM- MPATGM
7.QRSAM
8.NAMICA
9.WHAAP
10.LCH
11.RUSTOM
12.TAPAS
13.UAV from private companies
14.UGV
15.Small arms from PSU and private

But so far major news are MIG 29 Upgrades, BMP 2 extension, ATHOS guns, 114 imported jets. Our generals will talk some technical jargons and shit on us by purchasing some limited indigenous maal.

The only saving grace is current GOI choking them on this negative list, if no one take this initiative I don't know how many above programs saw the light today.

They’ll keep IDDM stuff in trails for as long as possible and only then order a handful of units if they have to (LCH, LUH, Arjun etc)

meanwhile they are willing to order 100s of imported units for 10s of billions from the outset. It’s a very insidious game they are playing- starve Indian MIC of funds to expand capacity and thereby amortise costs and you’ll keep them uncompetitive compared to foreign OEMs.

imagine if they committed to 400+ LUH the moment it achieved IOC, instead 6+6 ‘LSP’ just to keep the door open for KA-226 as an ‘emergency’ procurement

What’s the largest defence contract an Indian company has ever had? LCA MK.1A and that was only for 83 units but if they ever get their wish (MRFA) they’ll happily order 114 from day one.

What is the name or above vehicle, we should simply order it tbh .
It's the k21 redback from Korea.

You would think a country with not even a quater of our population and landmass would be below us but they are busy producing top notch weapons and semiconductors while these people here can't even move over BMP-2.

Out of all things the audacity to show that crap which is nothing but a over glorified BMP-2 bothers me the most.

A nation/government/army that’ll proudly show this off as ‘futuristic’ has no sense or war fighting credentials

Agreed on every point. They are intentionally ordering a quantity which makes Mass manufacturing expensive compared to whatever foreign product price.

Also never understood the reason behind the low quantity order for Dhanush 114 when its predecessor Bofors quantity was 400. So, we are allowing an end-of-life product to just live while ordering a much better product in limited quantity.

Same with Mig 21, we had 1200 at peak and now the replacement Tejas MK1A is just 123, which is just 10% of its predecessor strength. 123 MRFA will not give the sanctioned squadron strength and the MK1A can handle every modern threat scenario like precision strikes, BVR and even combat drones. But still, we are chasing for 2 engine fighters with exorbitant price while we are having similar programs going on.

Ever heard of the term: Proof of Concept(POC)??
It does not seem to be the case given your rant, this is by no means the final version of the FICV, this designed is based on the Abhay-2 ICV hull designed by CVRDE.
It will go through various refinements before the final design is put to the tests by the Indian Army, also the model as of now has not been integrated with side skirts, add-on armour.
It will look far better after those additions

Will be 30 to 35 tonnes. But we are going to build an IFV and Light tank at 25 ton.
50t+... It'll glacis protect the troops from MBT rounds, whole our FICV (OFB one atleast) was rated for 30mm auto-cannon protection at front.

A day has come when Chinks are offering there infantry max protection & ours are being taken in combat in tincans (oh but amphibious ones).

Remember how we were told that they bought Soviet cr@p but developed their own tactics? Instead they’ve been practicing a version of Soviet Cold War mech warfare concepts (rapid thrusts into enemy territory using lighter and more mobile APCs). This is how we end up with the disappointment of FICV- it’s built to the IA’s big brain ideology that they’ve never actually put into practice.

as I say, peacetime mentality is really showing, the power disparity between Ukraine and Russia is massive. Not so much between india and Pakistan and then there’s China….

i hope it doesn’t need 100s of soldiers to be sacrificed to get the clowns at the top to think like it’s the 21st century

‘strategic mobility’ is already used to kill off Arjun, delay ATAGS etc
IMHO, the mad scramble for drones(especially post the start of Russia-Ukraine conflict) is exactly to keep their 20th century doctrine intact; unfortunately, it doesn't extend to armoured vehicles.

I understand keeping light tanks at 25 ton since army wants more agile tanks in mountain but I don't understand this weight restrictions on ficvs 30-35 tons should be allowed
Before we diss the design, it may just be made to meet our requirements in certain topography. I have no problem if Army customized it to suit their ops regime vs a general version of IFV.....let's wait till facts become clear a bit. We seem to complain if something is created for our own custom scenarios vs general products out there.....

Don't want to be snooty but can't help it, the private sector doesn't seem to be doing much better PSUs/OFB maybe even worse - no F's given for presentation?
View attachment 176588

Not a big deal, this is predominant in Auto sector, good weld robots have good finish with negligible splatters but sometimes where finish does not matter (cost cutting) you will find this type of finish. Just check the silencer weld for a commuter bike like TVS, Hero to a Triumph. You will see the finish much better in Triumph compared to others. There is no issue with weld strength.
