Anyone in electronics know if this looks very up to date or not? The finish on the board seems a tad off.

There is a zoom in high resolution pic in Jjamwals part-2 link. If any one is good in electronics can u comment a bit on it?

You can't tell by the appearance. It will depend on the capabilities and specifications of the device. But from a lay man point of view they certainly have used a large number of IC and microprocessors, it can be up to date.
The sad thing is not a lot of microprocessors are available in India or even most of the countries. State of the art and modern electronics are available only in the US/UK.

The list should give you a clear example. USA rule the roost, Japan and Taiwan's effort's are commendable.
