1. Australia
Australia is the leading nation with an average of 2,032 square feet. The construction of large houses in the country is attributed to limited land supplies and housing affordability. Australians are also building bigger houses to have spare rooms for growing families.

2. United States
The United States is second in house size by country. The average house size in the superpower country is approximately 1,900 square feet. The bigger houses are attributed to the mass production and ready availability of cheaper building materials across the country. The perception that houses are financial assets also prompts many Americans to construct bigger houses.

3. Canada
With an average size of 1,700 square feet, houses in Canada are the third-largest homestead by size in the world. Houses in the North American country are also better built with quality building materials than houses in Australia and the United States. Like Americans, Canadians construct bigger houses because they perceive them as important financial assets. Financial strength and availability of building materials also enable people to construct bigger houses.

It is obvious from consumption patterns even for things that should be bought mostly by the West like western luxury autos -- forget the mainstream consumerables like cellphones, refridgerators, AC or TVs (biggest purchases outside house and car) -- that the Chinese economy is MUCH bigger than the US.

Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, etc. all have Chinese sales in multiples of what they sell in the US.

Everything Chinese people consume is in multiples of the US -- except maybe for adult videos!

One question always baffles me. BBC says Indians are struggling in heating summer. But why not use air conditioners? even in some hospitals? It doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not sure how credible this source is. I'm not familiar with Indian climate or cultural tradition.View attachment 258739
Hope @srevster can explain this weird phenomena.

The ownership of air conditioners in India has tripled since 2010, reaching 24 units per 100 households, due to rising heat and increased incomes. Electricity consumption for space cooling has increased 21% between 2019 and 2022, with nearly 10% of electricity demand in India now coming from cooling requirements. The International Energy Agency predicts that household air conditioner ownership will expand ninefold by 2050, outpacing the growth of other appliances. India has achieved self-sufficiency in petroleum refining capacity and has made significant progress in bringing electricity and clean cooking access to millions of people

Household air conditioner ownership is estimated to expand ninefold by 2050,
outpacing the growth in ownership of all other household appliances including televisions, refrigerators and washing machines, the IEA’s World Energy Outlook has projected

One in 4 household so it is not bad and Indians enjoy cheaper houses than Chinese too

When you read articles from highly BIASED sources like Bullshit Broadcasting CH**ya or Al-Katua then expect everything is not well in India. They will keep smelling the backside of India and say all is smelly.

Heat has broke some records and electricity demands went high. Obviously the system will be in pressure specially some govt hospitals. They will intentionally go to those places where things are not right and show how bad is India. But they will not go where things are going good. They have dedicated India hating local brown "journalists" in India who collaborate for their daily dedicated columns of "Bad news from India".

Half truth is dangerous than a LIE.

BBC should better care for their white daughters breeded by local Paki mullas. They keep labeling them Asians and can't even name them. A country which is RULED by a Brown guy can't even find a white man for a PM. Worse is when the mator of London is a Paki mulla again.

India is slowly rising and MIDDLE CLASS is getting stronger and having high purchasing power.

Chinese carmakers are losing their appetite for Europe after the EU imposed tariffs on their EVs

Lionel Lim
Thu, Jun 20, 2024, 7:13 PM GMT+92 min read

10
Europe's tariffs on Chinese-made EVs are already dragging down business sentiment among Chinese companies—and the new taxes aren't even in effect yet.
A recent survey from the China Economic Service and the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU reports that 82% of Chinese vehicle and industry chain firms are less confident about investing in Europe in the near future, due to the tariffs. Eighty-three percent say that their European partners are now worried about cooperating with Chinese companies, while 73% reported drops in European sales.

The survey covered more than 30 companies and institutions working with new energy vehicles, a category that includes battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
Chinese automotive companies face a "challenging business environment," the report said. The majority of companies polled agreed that "heightened trade tensions" were politicizing economic activities.
A building trade war
Last week, the European Commission said it will impose tariffs of up to 38% on Chinese-made electric vehicles, starting next month. The decision follows an anti-subsidy probe launched last October.
That decision could trigger a wider trade spat between China and Europe. The EU is probing several other industries including iron and steel, wind turbines, and medical devices.
Chinese automakers are urging Beijing to increase tariffs on internal combustion engine vehicle imports from Europe.
Beijing recently launched an anti-dumping probe into European pork, adding to a similar probe launched against European brandy earlier this year.
How will Chinese EV makers respond?
China's EV sector has emerged as a major driver of the Chinese economy, as companies like BYD and batterymaker CATL become major players in their respective sectors. Chinese manufacturers have rejected accusations that their success is due to state support.
Chinese EV makers could get around the tariff by setting up manufacturing operations in Europe. BYD and fellow Chinese carmaker Chery have committed to new plants in Hungary and Spain.
The Chamber's survey suggest that more Chinese carmakers could be thinking about basing more production in Europe. Even as many reported less confidence in investing in Europe, 64% of companies said they still planned to establish factories for Europe-based manufacturing within the next five years.

The chang is obviously ignorant, for example Mexico and india are in the same latitude
1718921426727.png

However if you go to mexico city

2,240 m above sea level.

At 2,240 meters, Mexico City is well above the limit, although lots of people visit with no symptoms of sickness at all. As you go up in altitude, available oxygen for sustaining mental and physical alertness decreases. Air pressure is lower even though the percentage of oxygen in the air is essentially the same.

Basically the weather is cool you do not get as hot as he might think simply because the temperature is not that hot see
1718921716268.png

Also materials of the house affect and size; a tall cieling and relatively big house makes house really pleasant

.

2,625 m

Bogotá is the third-highest capital in South America and in the world after Quito and La Paz, at an average of 2,640 meters (8,660 ft) above sea level.

Bogota is even cooler than CDMX

any way having air conditioner is not a most since many cities are near the sea

The largest cities in mexico are not that hot see

Singapore’s founding father thought air conditioning was the secret to his country’s success

The total shipment of China’s air conditioner industry stood at 167 million units for FY2023, up 9.2% YoY, reaching a historic high, according to ChinaIoL.com. Among them, domestic shipment reached 102 million units with a rise of 16.9% YoY, hitting the 100-million-unit milestone for the first time, while export volume stood at 65.913 million units, down 0.8% YoY.
