This is incorrect... Asian elephants don't live strictly in tropical forests, nor plainland. They were once found all over central China, right up to the Chinese northern plains. Today there are only found in a small pocket around north of the Myamar-Laos border in Yunan....Asian elephants usually live in tropical regions and China doesn't have many tropical regions, only a small tract of land bordering Myamar is good tropical habitat for Asian elephants.
