Old camo looks very hardcore miltary, should never be discarded for ceremonial purposes, but should be replaced with appropriate camo for combat usage.

The new Camo is British MTP which is like a mix of American Woodland and American Multicam.

General Duty : - These are different for winters and summers. For winters, the officers wear a peach colour shirt, black tie and an olive green blazer along with a beret or a peak cap. This is called Dress 5 SD. Angola Shirt is worn by Some regiments also wear Angola shirt preserving certain colour of their traditions.. for Summer has all ranks in the standard Olive Greens. Interestingly, in 2005, Olive Greens were switched from Khaki to avoid similarity with that of Pakistan Army.

Blue Patrol : - Blue Patrol is the dress code for ceremonial uniform during winters. The blue patrol is worn with a ‘bandgala’ coat. This dress could be used as a mess dress also. In this uniform, the shoulder pips are embodied with ranks on the coat. There is an exception in armored corps with a chain mail along with their ranks on the shoulder.

6A/6B : - The 6 Alpha is the white mess/formal dress for the Indian Army during winters just like blue patrol. Suited with a white coat and black trousers, it is less popular than the blue patrol, hence rarely worn. The 6 Bravo dress is also a mess dress for summer which is worn with a cummerbund having respective regimental colors.

Ceremonials : - Ceremonials are worn during military ceremonial occasions like a guard of honor, wreath-laying, military funeral, etc. These include wearing ceremonials with Dress SD during winters and half sleeves during summers. The ceremonials include neck scraf, cummerbund, medals and decoration's.

Combats : - This is the standard field uniform of Indian Army. The disruptive pattern uniform have a forest camouflage pattern and hence, is also called “Jungle Dress”. In winters, a sweater or a jacket is worn over it. The ranks on this dress are embroidered on flaps and the usual metal ranks are not worn. While in war or exercise, only the basics essay sale, rank and name are worn on the dress and other decorations are worn during peace. The soldiers wear this on all Fridays including in peace areas.

Black : - The colour black is enough to ask for you to prove your mettle before owning this one. This ain’t usual dress code and are just as special as the men who wears it like the special forces such as NSG and men of the Armoured Corps.

Dungarees : - This uniform is basically meant for the officers of Army Aviation Corps. Only during flying. Only rank and the name tab appears in the dungaree along with the aircraft symbol they are associated with them.

Smocks : - If the men in black are considered heroes then Smock sure does make you a super hero. The dress itself has the quality to make a men wearing it, a flamboyant. The uniform is used by paratroopers of the Indian Army.

Maybe Unpopular opinion but I like the S1 uniform for General Duty.

In my opinion
The pockets should be more discreet
The ranks can be displayed on the shoulder itself, replaced to the front of plate carrier when using one.......
Better aesthetics
And you're good to go

If Indian Army is indeed going for British MTP Pattern based uniform. we can reference British for the Rank Badges and Name/Army Plates and adapt it for our Army and units.

I feel this camo is good for semi arid conditions, at green environment of LoC, this may be easily visible (a combat camo can’t make you invisible but makes sure you’re the last one to be seen). Anyways, I want this to be selected but why Royal Marines rejected MTP for MULTICAM?

Your opinion doesn’t matter because this is what they are going to use, sorry to say. I would have gone for MULTICAM but they’re going for MTP.

Most veterans in youtube says MTP is better than multicam

I don’t know, it’s Indian Army so next century is a better extimate for camo modernisation.
