Russians are junior partner of China and are unreliable AF. Recently showed desire to sell Napaks some weapons too.
USA under left is willing to sacrifice india to appease it's own generic population and further support it's agenda. We are supposed to get key military equipments from them for our future projects without some type of collaboration with USA we will become vulnerable.

We need to invest on two thing's local manufacturer equipments and SSBNs with just two sbbns we can't deter both China and porks.

We need 7 of these soo that we have a successful working nuclear triad and we already have nuclear technology for that.

We can't rule out another Chinese aggression and to counter that we need American assistance if we can't get that we need to self create some cost effective hard power.

my view is that the usa is to be used and thrown when nothing more can be squeezed.the americans are in a way worse than chinese.atleast you dont have to convince the general indian people to not like or trust the chinese due to their actions.the usa is complicated as it is a good cash cow to sell our wares adn fro export but we dont want their social issues and other attitudes imported.also the fact that some people whether in ill intent or ghandian naievete cannot fathom usa as against india duw to some meme of dEmOcRaCy or hUmAn rIgHts,etc.
