I have been crying this ummah factor for a long time and wanted Rafale to loose UAE. :scared1:

Love to see the exclusive jet user in Asia.
They seem to be serious on Telemos recently.
Exactly. Ummah brotherhood spoiled the typhoon factor. Don't know MoD thinks same way or not ??

I am sure MoD will bargain maximum.

I wish we Buy Rafale + nEUROn technology as freebies :p. PAK-FA already done and then All Fighter Jets + U(C)AV Done till 2040-2050 or may be forever !!

5th Generation would be last manned aircraft fighter I suppose.

Not worthy. For Tejas, We will buy GE engine most likely. Also, may be for Jaguar.
AESA already included in Rafale. May be for our other fighter jets including Mirage ?? :scared1:

I don't think MoD would be as greedy as we are.

RAF + nEUROn + Mistral + AESA will be dream come true !!

Let see, what outcomes after all !! :)

Russian-built, BrahMos-fitted frigate set for Indian Navy induction
Moscow, Dec 16, (IANS) :
Equipped with BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, INS Teg, a Russian-built frigate for the Indian Navy, will set sail once its Indian crew arrives and takes over the warship from the Russian Navy, well-informed sources said here Friday.
INS Teg is the first of six Talwar (Krivak) class frigates to be equipped with the 290-km BrahMos missiles jointly developed by India and Russia. The first three Talwar class warships -- INS Talwar, INS Trishul and INS Tabar -- that were inducted in the Indian Navy in 2002 and 2003 do not have the BrahMos, but are equipped with Klub class missiles.

Apart from INS Teg, two other frigates, being built by the Kaliningrad-based Yantar shipyard -- all three constituting the second line of Talwar-class ships -- will also have the BrahMos missiles integrated.

"With the successful test of BrahMos, INS Teg is now ready to sail to India. It is awaiting its Indian Navy crew, who are expected later this month or early in January 2012," sources here told IANS.

"The Indian Navy plans to induct the warship by March 2012," they added.

The Russian Navy, which had conducted the sea trials of INS Teg in September, test-fired the BrahMos from the ship's bow in the first week of December. Telemetric data indicated that all of its systems performed optimally, the sources said.
India and Russia had in July 2007 signed a $1.6 billion contract for the three follow-on Talwar class frigates under the Indian Navy's Project 11356.

INS Teg and the other two warships -- INS Tarkash (delivery likely in July 2012) and INS Trikand (January 2013) are expected to bolster the Indian Navy's growing blue water capabilities and ambitions.

The Indian Navy giving top priority to these guided missile frigates to maintain its combat worthiness and organizational ability to deploy warships at immediate notice.
The previous vessels of the Talwar class have been deployed by Indian Navy in anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden and have proved themselves worthy of being mean fighting machines by achieving "kills" of pirate mother ships.

Packed with sensors, weapons and missile systems and stealth due to highly-reduced radar, infra-red, noise, frequency and magnetic signatures to beat enemy detection, each of these warships is equipped with a 100-mm gun, a Shtil air defence system, two Kashtan air defence gun and missile systems, two twin 533-mm torpedo tubes, and an anti-submarine warfare helicopter.

BrahMos Aerospace is an India-Russia joint venture established in 1998 for the joint development of the eponymously-named supersonic cruise missiles. The missiles, said to be the fastest in their class, are now under production and have been successfully inducted into the Indian Army and Indian Navy. The two countries are also developing the air-launched version of the missile that can cruise at speed of Mach 3, or three times the speed of sound, for the Indian Air Force's Sukhoi S-30 MKI air superiority combat planes.

A hypersonic version of BrahMos with Mach 7 speeds to boost aerial strike capability is under development and is expected to be ready by 2016.

FIRST LOOK: Air-launched BrahMos On Su-30

Perhaps the first photos of a BrahMos integrated on one of two IAF Su-30 MKIs earmarked to test the air-launched variant of the supersonic cruise missile. I found these pictures in the new BrahMos calendar. While carriage tests and integration tests have been carried out, a first test-firing is unlikely to happen before the end of this year. Development and integration of the air-launched version has been delayed owing to major modifications for the new role, which has included challenges in addressing aerodynamic stability and flame sustenance. In fact in 2007, the Su-30MKI as a platform was briefly dropped from plans owing to the prospect of major time overruns if the team went ahead with reducing the BrahMos's bore diameter. It was a time when the Sukhoi Design Bureau had put its price up and had accorded low priority to the task. All that's behind the team now as it lays the groundwork for a test firing, hopefully this year.

Brahmastras from the land of Sree Padmanabhaswamy! BrahMos likely to be integrated

Tarmak007 -- A bold blog on Indian defence: COMING SOON: Brahmastras from the land of Sree Padmanabhaswamy! BrahMos likely to be integrated at Thiruvananthapuram, minus warheads & propellants | Julius Zacharias is new BATL boss
++

.
.
Bangalore\T'puram: The land of Sree Padmanabhaswamy is likely to roll out swift and sure Brahmastras that will ensure a kill-job as clean as a whistle. As a pointer to this delayed, yet dynamic project, a low-key bhoomi puja was conducted on January 27, at a piece of land recently 'acquired' by BrahMos Aerospace
Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL), in Chakkai, next to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. If all goes well, Ananthapuri will be the next address for India's supersonic-stealth cruise missile BrahMos.
Kept under wraps for reasons best known to BATL officials, the boomi puja was attended by A Sivathanu Pillai, BrahMos Aerospace CEO; V G Sekhar, Director, ASL, Hyderabad; Vishnu Kartha, Executive Director, BATL; Rear Admiral (Retd) Mohapatra, Executive Director, BrahMos Production, Hyderabad and the BATL Workmen Welfare Committee members.
Sources confirm to Express that within a year, the complete building blocks for a Missile Integration Complex (MIC) will be in place. "BATL has taken the Air Force Complex land and Vishal Infrastructure Ltd (who undertook the Thiruvananthapuram airport work) has been entrusted with the mandate of completing the work on a war-footing. A total of 20,000 sq feet has been earmarked for the project, taken as part of BATL Phase-II expansion plans,"a senior defence official said.
The MIC will undertake the complete integration of BrahMos missile, sans warhead fixing and propellent filling jobs. "Once the dry integration is done at BATL, the missile can be taken to the adjacent airport and airlifted in special flights to Nagpur for warhead and propellent integration. There are plans to have a secure road-link to the
runway," sources said.
This will be the second MIC for BrahMos, with the first being already functional inside the Missile Complex in Hyderabad.
BATL gets new boss: Rear Admiral (Retd) Julius Zacharias is the new head of BATL and will assume office on February 1. His appointment as Managing Director was ratified by the BATL Board which met on January 27. With a spate of internal dissidence from a section of employees
demanding the formation of trade union, the decision to elevate BATL's chief's post from ED to MD is an indication he getting more disciplinary powers. The Kerala government had recently
exempted BATL from the ambit of Trade Unions Act. Zacharias was attached to BrahMos MIC in Hyderabad last year as an Officer on Special Duty.
The current BATL chief Vishnu Kartha completes his four-year tenure this month end and will go back to his parent body – Indian Space Research Organisation.
