A

Alpha says No DAS in mk1.
Iirc DAS was in plans for mk1 but no EOTS it had two IRST instead.
Anybody knows how suddenly AMCA mk1 isn't getting a DAS?
Incompetence, and "phase wise development mentality". They'll do anything to get that flying even if compromising on things that make an FGFA, an FGFA.

So it seems that AMCA has finally recieved CCS approval. This should have been done a few years ago, now the funds for AMCA will be sanctioned and the prototypes can commence construction.

AMCA has just approved. Its atkeast 15 years from now when the first aircraft will be inducted. I am more hopeful towards Ghatak being in IAF service and wreaking havoc on PLA cormations along LAC. :hat:

I think ADA and HAL have already made some trivial parts of the aircraft inhouse before the approval right? they already know it is coming, but just went? I think the first roll out is in 24 months or is it a bit ambitious?
24 months is not possible, IMPO

1st prototype: 2030
first flight: 2031
Test cycle and feedback improvements done: 2035
1st SP Amca MK1 rollout: 2037 IOC

What ! dude they had already said 1 st prototype will roll out with in 3 years once funding is approved..and all 5 will be delivered in 5 years.
Many components have been made infact bulkhead which is most crucial component of frame is also manufactured now..
Even it could be delayed but first flight wont take 7 years as you are saying. Most likely max 4 years..

Yeah, Two years I was being over-optimistic, but the concerned department already knew it just a matter of when, since it is now the green signal time to execute it, The concern tho it is a public-private joint venture no private sector has come out to co-developed it other than chain suppliers.

First flight can happen by end of 2027 or early 2028. But induction for sure will not be possible before 2035.

Ya'll Nibbiars A article published way back in 2015 regarding the LRDE's work. And FYI it's going to have diagnostic and bypass features I.e. Self healing features as stated by NAK Brownie and Dr. Saraswat + Voice Command system was also being worked back then.

Still remember the condition the engineers were working back then a sub standard facilities, a lot of sacrifice has been made by the engineers and researchers since 2011. A lot if photographs may be still here on this thread showing the dire conditions.
yeah our psu have some hard working guys as well thanks for the info

The Indian Air Force plays a significant role from the design phase onwards, actively participating in bimonthly progress checks. It's doubtful that the IAF would allow the (AMCA) prototype to become the subject of ridicule like those from Iran or Turkey in terms of fifth-generation prototypes.

Several critical technologies need to become 15-20% more energy-efficient, while others must be developed domestically for the AMCA prototype to be considered fifth-generation. The United States is unwilling to offer assistance, making French support crucial to achieving the target by 2030.

Unless India aims for a serious outcome by 2030, rather than settling for a mere joke, aggressive efforts are imperative.

The CCS approval is 5 years late.

We are atleast 10 years from induction.

By that time even the pakis will have couple of squadrons of donated 5gen fighters.

The Chinese already have dozens.

Even the Turks have flown theirs.

Is the government looking to induct 3-4 squadrons of a foreign fighter 5gen fighter to plug the gap?
