If this piece of speculation is true , it's bad news for the MRFA for there's no way we'd be inducting a quasi 5th Gen FA in the form of AMCA Mk-1 at the same time & in approximately the same numbers as the Rafales which're due to come around the same time . Something isn't adding up right. We'd have to wait for more news to percolate our way before getting a comprehensive picture.

Dude Tejas supply chain has been established that's why it was easy for different manufacturers to make Tejas mk2s components. And that's why total of around 8500 components were ordered and hal has assembled it.. it can neither fly nor we test anything significant.
It is just for us to cope.
so cope harder & feel good just like me.
as mk2 will ready very soon.
on a serious note mk2 will fly quite early as soon as funding is approved.
Going forward with amca seems f414 is sorted.. again take some copium

Iirc DAS was in plans for mk1 but no EOTS it had two IRST instead.
Anybody knows how suddenly AMCA mk1 isn't getting a DAS?

Ya'll Nibbiars A article published way back in 2015 regarding the LRDE's work. And FYI it's going to have diagnostic and bypass features I.e. Self healing features as stated by NAK Brownie and Dr. Saraswat + Voice Command system was also being worked back then.

Still remember the condition the engineers were working back then a sub standard facilities, a lot of sacrifice has been made by the engineers and researchers since 2011. A lot if photographs may be still here on this thread showing the dire conditions.

LRDE GAN Based Radar in 2012

RAM major works in 2014, but some works were carried out even before then.

Cockpit since 2014 or 2015.

Fly by Opctics I can trace as early as 2013.

Self healing was mooted back in 2015.

And Voic Command also in 2015.
