Rolls-Royce needs some serious Indian moolah and co-operation for their Tempest engine development. Only time will tell whether the JV will yield more in our favour or theirs. The Tempest engine development program needs hard cash VERY HARD.......More details here............................India-UK to work jointly in jet engine development
Since India prefers a government to government route, the two sides are keen to have the framework for future defence deals soon as the jet engine agreement is expected soon.t.co
Look if it solves our purpose of getting know how Of engine technology, I am all for hard cash or very hard cash.Rolls-Royce needs some serious Indian moolah and co-operation for their Tempest engine development. Hopefully the final phase of discussions and the signing of the agreement will be done by this year. This may well turn out to be a gamechanger for us.Look if it solves our purpose of getting know how Of engine technology, I am all for hard cash or very hard cash.

As for now and 5 years henceforth, It's a very wise choice on our part I should say.
it's good that they kept 110kn for AMCA mk2 otherwise we would have faced similar problems as j20 is facing. How the tables turn
Anyway RR has been bleeding money becuase of the Trent 1000 debacle and even before the Pandemic were in deep deep brown stuff. Now they are close to the brink, perfect time for India to role them in for the 110KN effort
What’s good is that ADA has taken the decision that the prototypes and MK1 AMCA will be powered by F414, when the new 110KN engine is ready it will go into the MK.2. They’ve learned their lessons from linking Kaveri and LCA projects.
Keep Modi around purely for this kind of pragmatism.
What do you think is the necessary thrust each engine in J20 should have? What are the implications of J20 flying with Russian Engines apart not able to supercruise?it's good that they kept 110kn for AMCA mk2 otherwise we would have faced similar problems as j20 is facing.
If they are planning to use it as a truck to carry their long range bvr and pgm and unload the packages from a distance and never ever try to have close contact then less thrust shouldn't matter as they will not enter enemy airspace and leave that part to their improved j10`s. Like a wolf among chickens release the long range bvrs from a distance and keep the opponents engaged and allow the aggressors to do their thing. I am no military expert of any kind and have only limited knowledge. These are just my assumptions as there may be a lot of other variables involved. What do you think is the necessary thrust each engine in J20 should have? very true, even the Su57 is facing similar troubles becuase AL41 is still lacking.it's good that they kept 110kn for AMCA mk2 otherwise we would have faced similar problems as j20 is facing.
The WS-15 is meant to have 180KN (wet) thrust and J20 weighs about the same as F22 so this would be a HUGE thrust advantage over the F22 (150KN wet thrust) but they have been working on this for a long long time and don’t seem that close to making it anywhere near reality. What do you think is the necessary thrust each engine in J20 should have? well they need to redesign the intake for integrating their own engine ws15.What do you think is the necessary thrust each engine in J20 should have? What are the implications of J20 flying with Russian Engines apart not able to supercruise?
And what is this debacle???Anyway RR has been bleeding money becuase of the Trent 1000 debacle and even before the Pandemic were in deep deep brown stuff.
How much have they been successful with WS-10? The information available says it has a thrust of 120-140kN. And they have said they have produced more 300 Engines of WS-10. If they have really cracked the Jet Engine technology then WS-15 shouldn't take really long in my opinion. However Chinese aren't much open about their capabilities. They either hype their weapons to sky high or don't reveal anything about it at all.The WS-15 is meant to have 180KN (wet) thrust and J20 weighs about the same as F22 so this would be a HUGE thrust advantage over the F22 (150KN wet thrust) but they have been working on this for a long long time and don’t seem that close to making it anywhere near reality.
the Chinese are in a tight spot having to choose between glitchy Russian engines and their own underpowered and unproven ones.
Rolls-Royce have far more technical knowledge than Us and have access to test labs and can actually jointly build them in india and i hope we will have access to advanced manufacturing machines too.Rolls-Royce needs some serious Indian moolah and co-operation for their Tempest engine development. When we partner with advanced player we lose some money but in knowledge part we always tend to gain more.
We can actually end up saving some money in joint venture compared to starting ourselves from the scrap.
BC andar puro khokhla ho to vi sahi, make a fucking tech-demo airframe & make it fly if the basic design is done!So amca full scale mockup.............
