Looks like the pilot just got married in 2019, I feel so sad for the parents....callous for me to say this but wife may atleast remarry considering how marriage is not once in life character test anymore for an individual but for parents, its brutal to lose a young and useful son like that....

Nigerian Army Chief dies in aircraft crash
Abuja [Nigeria], May 22 (ANI): Nigeria's army chief Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru is said to have died in a plane crash during a visit to the northern state of Kaduna, according to local media reports.

A Nigerian air force aircraft crashed on Friday evening near an international airport in Kaduna state, an air force spokesperson was quoted as saying by Xinhua. The spokesperson said in a statement that the immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained.

I am saddened that another pilot has died piloting a MiG-21., a type which does not have a good safety record and a type whose replacement was scheduled long ago by what has proved to a far safer type.

Tripoli [Libya], May 30 (ANI/Sputnik): A MiG-21 fighter jet of the Libyan Air Force crashed on Saturday during a military parade in Benghazi, the second-most populous city in the country, killing the pilot, a military source told Sputnik.

"A MiG-21 fighter jet crashed during a military parade of the Libyan National Army (LNA) in Benghazi, pilot Jamal ibn Amer was killed," the source said.

Later, the crash was confirmed by LNA spokesman Khalifa al-Obeidi who expressed grief over the death of Jamal ibn Amer via Facebook.

People who get sentimental and emotional with handful of accidents should realize that...
IAF is a big force with big fleet and with honorable work culture...where incidents and accidents are promptly reported officially

Mig 21 has had more than a handful crashes, 3 this year of which 2 were fatal. IAF has a big fleet but at the same time it is still way short of its desired numbers for almost all platforms, fighters, AEWACS, mid air refuellers, etc.

just checked on wiki, US armed forces suffered 6 KIA in two UH-60 chopper crashes this year so far.
last year 2 pilots were killed in 2 crashes (F-15 and F-16 which are far more newer and advanced w.r.t. MiG-21 Bison)

Aircraft crashes are measured per flight hour or number of flights/sorties. Its makes no sense to compare absolute number of crashes between the Indian Air Force which has about 1,200 aircraft with the USAF which has more than 5,500 aircraft (they have more than 1,200 F-16s alone !)

Also those UH-60 chopper crashes don't come in this 5,500 aircraft because they were from the Army National Guard not USAF.

The Indian Air Force has lost 3 Mig-21 Bisons in just 5 months out of roughly 80 in service, which works
out to an annual attrition rate of almost 10% a year!
