IS this photo just before collision ?
Seems those 2 jet are in different speed ,hit from the back .
There is 3 dot from right object and 1 from left , I am assuming that the "3 dot jet" showing it's tail-light 2 engines most probably hit the other "1 dot jet" from back with an angle
may be its when those took off from the airbase...

This drama has become a monthly ceremony for the IAF now.

There's a limit to how much one can blame others. Russia issued a strong statement stating in a matter-of-fact-ly manner that IAF guys fly like cowboys. It is after this stern admonishment that the IAF stopped using the phrase "low quality Soviet era hardware". They were fooling the masses all along.

Just because a plane was designed decades ago doesn't mean that the plane you are flying today is decades old. The IAF has been granted funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the planes. The engines have a life span of 15 to 25k KMs after which a new engine is fitted. So this excuse of 'old equipment' doesn't hold any water. We've purchased spare engines for the replacement and they get sparkling new engines every couple of months. Not to mention, the IAF has to check all equipment before every plane takes flight. How come these 'loose screws and bolts' don't get detected during the check? how come Russia doesn't have monthly crashes unlike the IAF? no other country which flies Russian equipment has the extent of crashes that IAF does.

These are the same guys who have the gall to take a press conference and call out the defense minister on his knowledge and keep fantasizing about a two front war. They can't even handle whatever equipment they have.

The IAF assets must be split. There should be a small and potent aerospace force like Russia has, dedicated to air superiority missions. All other ground strike fighters must be deputed to the Army and Navy. The IAF has created a monopoly over all air assets and feel they own no accountability.

The Ex-IAF chief is under CBI investigation for the same reason.

What a load of bullshit. Do you even know what the fuck you are talking about? Taking statements of those idiotic Russians. What does flying like a cowboy mean? Our pilots train hard in peace time so that can save your sorry ass in war. Why don't the Tejas or the Mirage crash under similar training conditions? Your post is so off the mark that I don't even know how to respond. I will just say this, the IAF comprises of professionals. They do not need advise from civilians like you or the idiotic Russians as to how to operate their own equipment.

I think his views on maintenance and spares stocking is right. IAF has been found guilty of not stocking enough spares. This speaks bad of the maintenance and logistic department.

MoD was informed about serious problems with IAF's management of spares. By standard norms, a fighter fleet consumes five per cent of its worth in consumables and spares each year. By that benchmark the Su-30MKI fleet, currently worth about Rs 69,000 crore - 193 Su-30MKIs at Rs 358 crore a fighter - should consume spares worth Rs 3,450 crore annually.

Yet, IAF orders from HAL add up to less than Rs 50 crore, including ground handling equipment.

Without competent inventory management by IAF, and with spares ordered piecemeal when defects arise, Su-30MKI fighters spend weeks on the ground awaiting spares.

So you can see, they are waiting for disaster then they order, Is such thing an acceptable behavior ? What more
On the other side Its HAL who is doing the stocking which should be done by IAF.

To ensure that 13-14 per cent of the Su-30MKI fleet is not grounded for want of spares, HAL has stockpiled spares worth Rs 400 crore in Nashik. According to S Subrahmanyan, the chief of HAL's Nashik facility, the inventory is based on a study of consumption patterns of Su-30MKI spares over the preceding five years. HAL says this buffer stock includes spares that are still purchased from Russia, because low consumption volumes make indigenisation non-cost-effective. Even so, non-availability of these spares could ground aircraft. Simultaneously, HAL has proposed to MoD that IAF must order spares required over a five-year period, stocking them at 25 Equipment Depot, IAF's holding depot for spares at Nashik.
So instead of Blaming, MoD, Russians, Weather, Sunshine, Boogyman etc. How about the dandy boys got down in grease and start doing what should've been done all along instead of press conferences.

Everybody and their grannies know Russian jets are not very high on maintenance, but Su30 was bought knowing that, So Its expected of them to adapt to the Russian hardware. I don't see them complaining when they do break dances in the sky with the same hardware and sing praises of it.
