Well, this thread has run quite long.
My major objection to the stuff being discussed on this thread is
@Pratap's view that the "Hindi heartland" is somehow the "core" of India and everything else is peripheral. Ustad summarized
@Pratap's points well some posts ago. This view is shared by many "Hindi heartlanders" to various degrees, they they are "Indians" and that everyone else is either suspect, or a curiosity and a subject of ridicule. When it is obvious that they are not contributing to the nation proportionate to their massive numbers, I wonder on what basis they jump up and down calling themselves Indians and call others names and ridicule them.
@Pratap, who is denying any racism or discrimination against "South Indians", was himself making racist and nasty comments against South Indians in his previous avatar,
@MAYURA.
I agree with one point by @rock127 that though Raj Thackeray ought not to beat and bash Biharis and Bhaiyyas physically, he does have a point about cultural invasion and arrogance of certain groups in the nation.
