Found a video:

Interesting part is the F18 engaging with possibly our flankers in 1On1 WVR engagements. We can see the F18 pilot possibly trying to keep a flanker away from tail. At first it's trying to assess the turning rates of flanker and then the F18 pilot later pitch the nose of hornet at 90 degree straight whereby possibly engaging in body roll manoeuvre and later do a loop to try to come at back of the flanker making it as a target.

Pretty classic manoeuvre but more brutal ones that were suppose to come next don't have a video to showcase.

I am waiting for the Exercise Pitch Black A2A and BVR engagements with our MKI's. I want to see the data, how we fared against them.
Well if we remember Red Flag, we also know where the problems are for IAF in such exercises.

- Bars only in training mode
- no data linking to friendly forces possible, since IAF data links are not compatible with NATO once
- IAF pilots limited to radio communication, will be restrictive in modern air warfare

The results of WVR combats, should be more favourable, but then again, it's more about gaining experience, learning new or different tactics and team work, even with some restrictions.

Don't underestimate IAFs (and INs) role in disaster relief missions, all over the country!

IAF is for the safety of nation from enemy & other natural disaster m we are good in 2 role but are we well prepared for our main role , do we all asset to fight .do we have full power .

Your Tweet are very good but this thing will not help us in war .

IAF need good fighter planes to secure india . Otherwise we will just remain as a disaster management team

I am only trying to show the good work IAF / our forces do, in all kinds of roles, because their hard work, should not be reduced to fighting in war times only.

But to be a capable force in war times, IAF of course needs more and I continue to post reports like this too =>

And a very good article on the need of force multipliers:
It's not "just" fighter numbers that we lack, but also capabilities, like wide spread AWACS and tanker support, modern stand off PGM strike, or SEAD capabilities. All this belong to modern air combat and are fields, where our enemies already have gained superiority over IAF and that is more than worrying.

But we can't just look at the bad things, especially if IAF is not responsible for the lack of modernisation and have to acknowledge, their hard work in other areas too.

Russia, India Engaged in Talks on 5th Generation Fighter Jet - UAC

Moscow and New Delhi are going ahead with discussions on the fifth generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) project despite media reports on India’s withdrawal, Yury Slyusar, the president of the Russian United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), said on Sunday.

"We have not closed the topic, we continue to discuss with India the joint development of the fifth generation [aircraft]. The topic is not closed. It was reported quite intensely that the Indians are exiting this project – they are not withdrawing from it, they just ask a really large number of questions, to which, in our opinion, we give exhaustive answers. As before, we proceed from the premise that the amount of technology that we are ready to transmit to India, no other country is not ready to transfer," Slyusar told the Rossyia 1 broadcaster.

In April, Director for International Cooperation at Russia's Rostec Viktor Kladov told Sputnik that Moscow had not received any notification from India on New Delhi's alleged withdrawal from FGFA, thus denying media reports about India's intention to leave the project.

The project implies that India will not only acquire new generation fighter jets, but will also launch their licensed production, according to the executive. Slyusar expressed his hope that the sides would switch to the design stage soon.

Under the Russian-Indian FGFA project, both sides would invest $4 billion each at the developmental stage, while the total cost of constructing 127 fighter jets is estimated to amount to $25 billion. In the project, the Russian side is represented by the Sukhoi aircraft manufacturer and the Indian side by Hindustan Aeronautics. The initial FGFA agreement was signed in 2007, the final agreement, which will include the project's financing conditions, is yet to be signed.

Now this is big...Seven jets will fight each other now
Big? Lol! Russia is trying to muddy the waters. The winner is predetermined. This MRCA 2.0 is a BIG farce.
Russian jets don't stand a chance given the IAF's and IN's increasing frustration with russian support (or lack of) and their favourite passtime of jacking of prices and cheating us.
