This thread is full of anxiety fuel posts such as these. Some of their gear is on par with the best of our special forces.
So they are our equivalent of CRPF right?
If the standard which is seen in this pic is the same all across the sizeable paramilitary force than it is really commendable and depressing for us at the same time.

The reality of our paramilitary is that most of the men arent trained on par with foreign para militaries or military police.
Only a section in the forces like COBRA, QRT, creek crocodiles and AR are trained on a standard higher than that of a police force and we all know well the state of Indian police.
When the Indian admin talks about Police SF they think of strapping a borrowed Helemt, BPJ and a SLR or INSAS and calling it a day.

I doubt they extensively practice with an array of different weapons, urban warfare tactics, room intervention and yad yada tactics which is the bread and butter for western Urban SFs.
This might be due lack of money, leadership, vision or general awareness.

I have inquired about the practices of CRPF cobra and regular CRPF/BSF both are miles apart. You might as well call the regular CRPF as glorified police force(No Disrespect here) with higher physical standards.

It's not the lack of knowledge that is hampering us but the lack of will to act and recognising the necessity.
It's not like we lack the knowledge, we have the worlds best Mountain Warfare School, jungle warfare school.
But there is one key feature that is lacking and that is the flow of knowledge, innovation using the knowledge and a tendency to gain from experience.
US marine give as much time in developing tactics and as they train on field.
AR are best counter Insurgency forces if they weren't initially than they definitely are now and even if their tactics aren't world standard they are still experiences worth noting and studying.
ARs experience could have been used to train CRPF specially COBRAS.
AR can learn from PARA SF, actually all of the armed forces can learn from Indian SFs.

This isn't just one of the quicks of armed forces of our country but the entire Indian Society itself.
