But that was back in 2000s and they probably sent less than 50 operators.. They don't have any existential threats to their own country. Nothing that warrants even an army in the first place.. But they are operationally prepared and trained and equipped to combat threats. Indian SOFs are trained and prepared, but not at all well enough equipped. Their technology and even knowledge is seriously lacking.. Its changing now but not fast enough.

South Korean army 707 Special Missions Group (SoKo 707).
They are a unit under South Korean army Special Warfare Command (Comparable to USASOC).
They are modelled after Green Berets of US Army and Comparable to RR of Indian Army and SAS CTU of British Army.
They specialise in unconventional warfare, Hostage rescue, Anti-Insurgency, etc.

Haha GROM is probably my most fav SOF unit of late. :) Peer unit to STG and Delta and treated as equals by them as well
The strength of Delta is the American establishment and funding. GROM or any other unit can never hope to match delta in any way. Maybe individual training of GROM is on par with delta, but they can never compete with any American SMU as an organization..

That goes without saying. But the skill and quality of GROM is peer level to JSOC operators on an individual level not organisational level

About JW GROM, wiki says they are modeled after Delta, but seem more similar to SEALS and SAS, and to an extent Green Berets. I think that would be a more apt comparison. And JSOC is mostly Intel oriented. Imo there is no organization in the world like JSOC...

They dont even do combat, and look at their equipment.. Compare it with ours..
NZSAS has seen plenty of combat. Wiki has a list of their deployments.

GROM was raised by Delta. But developed a Waterborne capability as the DevGru also got involved. GROM has been part of jSOC task forces in Afghanistan and Iraq for a bulk of GWOT

JSOC is a command. Under which falls the following units: DevGru , Delta, intelligence support activity (ISA), 160th SOAR, AF 24th STS, 74th Ranger Regt RRC,

Yes the there is no other capability such as this. The Brits come closest but nowhere as organized.

The Israelis have similar units but in Silos.

The organization, cohesion and self sustainability and the level of tech they have is unparalleled

The Italian 9th Paratroopers Assault Regiment "Col Moschin" (9° Reggimento d'Assalto Paracadutisti "Col Moschin).
They are one of the two Tier 1 operators in the Italian army.
Italian armed forces have four Tier 1 units most by any country other than the US, and 9th Paratroopers are considered the Tier 1 of Tier 1 operators!

Why SOF of a small country like Poland so revered?
Well simply put competency. A small country was able to produce, equip and train a small group of soldiers to run with fhe big boys and hold their own.

If you have the time search articles on GROM on sofrep. Few ex from operators contribute as well.
