In defence of their army, iranians are claiming that civil aircraft was flying too close to the military base.
Why allow flight path that goes near military base to a civilian aircraft? Some incompetent nincompoop just shot down 173 civilians out of the sky and all they said was "Sorry the aircraft was flying too close to the military installations".

The American propaganda machine has dropped the ball on their spin doctoring game recently. If Iran had to take down a plane, all they had to do was get the immigration officials to plant a small explosive during baggage scan. After all, the airport is run by Iran.

Keep such conspiracy theories for low IQ Americans. Murica even tried blaming Russia for the Ukraine plane being shot down previously, later it was revealed that the BUK missile was fired by Ukrainian rebels.

It's called fog of war. The USN too shot down an Iranian commercial airliner in 1988 by mistake in a tense situation. Reagan apologized days after and then offered reparations which Iranians agreed to in 1996.

Unlike the USN however, the Ukrainian B737 took off from Tehran and should be known to Iranian authorities. But Iranian AD operators obviously were so tense that they did not verify first.

What is really remarkable is that the Iranians only killed their fellow Iranians (and some non-American foreigners). What i don't understand is that the plane took off in Iran itself that means it was cleared to fly and it was shot down just after takeoff ,

Ukrainian rebels are Russians who support Russia and want parts of Ukraine for merging with Russia. (Just like Muslim rebels in Kashmir want to merge with Pakis.)
The US, Canada, Netherlands and Germany Independently verified the BUK-1 missile (which Ukraine did not have) as the cause. It came from the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of the Russia and had been transported from Russia. Netherlands took leadership in this case and formed JIT.
