SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct. 8, 2009) Sailors and Marines aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) conduct a vertical replenishment with an SA-330 Puma helicopter assigned to the Military Sealift Command combat stores ship USNS San Jose (TAFS 7). Harpers Ferry, the amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) are supporting humanitarian efforts at the request of the Republic of the Philippines after two major storms struck the region.

US Navy Seals

U.S. Navy SEALs fast rope down from Sea Hawk helicopters and take up a defensive position on the deck of a ship during training.

US Navy SEAL divers inside the Dry Deck Shelter (DDS) of Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Philadelphia (SSN 690). Dry Deck Shelters allow submarines to launch and recover SEALs along with Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) and Swimmer Deliver Vehicles (SDVs) while remaining submerged
