Tibetan PM-in-exile seeks India's support - The Times of India
NAGPUR: The prime minister of Tibetan government-in-exile LobsangSangay said here on Thursday it was time for the Tibetans and India to join forces and use the combined strength to liberate Tibet from clutches of China. "India faces a grave threat from China and it is in its interests to have a free and independent Tibet as an ally," said Sangay.
The Tibetan PM-in-exile was on a brief visit to the city during which he met RSS functionaries at Reshimbagh. Pracharak of RSS' west region Sunil Deshpande specially reached here from Pune to receive Sangay at the airport and soon afterwards returned for a scheduled meeting. Sangay addressed Tibetan supporters and Buddhists who had gathered at the airport. The Tibetan supporters were led by Ashok Mendhe of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society
He later visited Deekshabhoomi and paying respects to Babasaheb Ambedkar remembered that in 1954 Ambedkar had realized that China was a major threat for India and even at that time wanted India to accord official recognition to Tibet. But that could not happen. "India is land of Buddha and is holy for us Tibetans. The age-old ties between the two remain and we look towards India for protection and support," said Sangay. He then proceeded to Reshimbagh where he addressed a group of senior RSS functionaries.
Two years ago, Tibetans living in India for the first time participated in elections to form a government in exile headquartered at Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. Sangay, who had come for the election campaign to Vidarbha, was now on a maiden visit after his election. He later left for Gothangaon settlement camp in Gondia district where the community members gave him a rousing reception.

What do Tibetans want, "middle way" or independent? Who represents Tibetans, Sangay or dalai lama or neither?
