Is this SOP to have an empty mag in the gun while on guard duty?
This pix seems to be from a demonstration and in such demonstrations we keep magazines empty. Is this SOP to have an empty mag in the gun while on guard duty?

Yeah it is possible with some small adjustments. In fact it has been done before. The gun will need a new reciever, some modification to the gas system and rotating bolt, barrel length would have to be increased by 164mm, the weight will go up by around 1.2 Kg, although it will gain the capability to add 40mm under barrel grenade launcher. Here's a picture of the said variant.@Kunal Biswas and others: since the amogh fires 5.45 x 30mm, is it possible for it to fire the 5.45 x 45mm (regular insas rounds),as only the length varies and the dia of the catridge is same?

Remember the 5.56 X 30 Amogh over 5000 of those rifles have also been supplied. Much bigger orders can be had if ammo supply is sorted out.

The Indian Coast Guard has emerged as a major buyer of the Amogh 5.56 x 30 mm carbine.
So this is what MINSAS has been designed for?
