What happened to that DRDO AVATAR space vehicle. Is it really in development or just a design study. If it is real and work is happening, then it will be a huge asset for us in Space Warfare. We can launch huge number of satellites in very small time with minimal infrastructure and it can also grab enemy assets and bring back here.

We can develop a Mother Satellite with multiple small kill satellites. We already have the capability to do that , but I don't know what stopping us from doing that. ISRO's SPADEX mission will have a robotic arm to grab the satellite, so we can also develop this kind of ASAT to grab enemy assets

Ya'll Nibbiars yeah and for that we need a full fledged service while can develop this new Weapons and tactics. We need to safe guard our assets and also in case of the war deny the enemy access to the space.

Yes, ISRO is also working on the same, we are not too late in this. After the RLV landing experiment is done this year, then they are planning to launch RLV on top of the GSLV-Mk2. It will be an orbital mission. It will be some what similar to X-37

Ya'll Nibbiars decayed.
Few years back it was observed that some parts were separating from that satellite and few people say that it was because of Mlecchas ASAT. I don't know whether there is mlecchas role in it, but it true that satellite is damaged badly.

On 30 September 2016, Joint Space Operations Center identified a debris generating event near RISAT-1.[14][15] The event created 16 pieces out of which 15 decayed and one was catalogued on 6 October 2016 under NORAD ID: 41797 and COSPAR ID: 2012-017C and decayed on 12 October 2016. Cause of this event remains unknown. A month later on 3 November 2016, RISAT-1 data was declared unavailable on ESA's Copernicus Space Component Data Access portal due satellite outage. Satellite was experiencing anomalies but ISRO denied they were related to fragmentation event.

When did ASAT missile was granted? Early 2016 or Late 2016?

How is number 8 different from the others, does it mean kinetic means of taking out a satellite under a command structure, isn't a branched out stuff much better as far as space warfare is concerned, launch, operations, EW, cyber, reconnaissance under a single command, training at the hands of a seperate command and a dedicated academy for it like AFA or OTA, and the higher echelons under CDS reporting directly to the president

Ya'll Nibbiars cyber division will dealth with cyber security and offensive from the ground. Ew is more of a ground controlled operations. And space warfare will dealth with like ASM, Space based weapons and others. And also PM can be directly reported and bypassing the defence security council with the CDS direct reporting it's.

Our ASAT was approved in 2016. So is there any coincidence with the RISAT-1 case?

Ya'll Nibbiars could be some conspiracy theories is there was some sort of hacking and derailing the satellite.
