finding something comparable doesn't make sense?
What do you mean by KH22 "being hypersonic as well" when you were talking about drones?

US' D-21 was a drone from the beginning, not a cruise missile turned into a drone. Besides KH22 was only a cruise missile, not a drone.

There you have it they can make missiles into drones hence hypersonic UAVs this shit is depressing.

Just as I thought. You better read more before you start posting.

That is D-21 a Mach 3 drone of the US from the 60's. This drone was used over areas with very high concentration of danger. Most of its missions are still classified but there are info of 4 missions over China in tge 60's.

The USAF even planned to convert a D-21 into a nuclear bomber. For obvious reasons, it's not very good to put nukes in drones specially in peacetime where nukes have to be brought back to base.

China has killed a lot of these things

Meet the Su-57 Lite Version: Russia Really Need A New Single-Engine Fighter?

In the 1980s, the Soviet Union found that the cost of mig29 was not much different from that of the Su-27. In addition, the Soviet Union's finances were gradually falling into difficulties. So at that time, the MiG Design Bureau wanted to develop a new type of single-engine fighter to reduce costs.

Hypersonic drones for reconnaissance is easy, I think they proposed scramjet drones for the IL-76 I have posted awhile back here. I was hoping for hypersonic drones with weapons.

If Mach 3 class is hard to produce and no operational drones were inducted in service anywhere aside from D-21, just think of the technical difficulties of producing hypersonic drones. But with time the tech will eventually catch up.

Oops I forgot, P&W already tesyed a 3-stream version of its F135 way back in 2017 designed as 40,000 thrust class with 25% fuel reduction and better cooling...

So two countries are working on 3 stream and one is trying to implement pulse detonation engines on aircrafts. Luckily the Maks 2021 might show some good aviation/space porn.

Russia does a lot of daydreaming nowadays and Russophiles mistake them for realities. In space, Russia should first land a man on the moon, otherwise China will get there ahead of it. As to 6th gen fighter, Russia should first finish its struggling Su-57...

Also, there's nothing revolutionary about PDE. It was first used by the Nazis in V1 cruise missile in WW2. Now the US is into PDE as cheap cruise missile engine.

why land a human there when both countries are actually working together to build a moon base over there? We havent even gotten to the maks 2021 aviation/space show yet and news just came yesterday that KB Arsenal is proposing a lunar module for the moon and launching a nuclear reactor to Mars to power up bases while using the TEM as a high power repeater for communication back to earth. The Su-57 technically is finished for being in service, its just the phase 2 design.

pulse jets are different from PDEs and RDEs with lower impulses thats like comparing ramjets to scramjets because there both air breathable but have different speeds. Blackswift was the only notable project planned to using PDE to mach 6 but got cancelled. see page 17 in pdf form regarding 1st phase SARMAT engine. NTI-Hruby_FINAL.PDF

Look at the kind of rockets operating in the US, from SpaceX to Blue Origin, the next wave of space exploration has already begun, driven by private companies. Where is Russia? Still flying antiquated rockets to space.

Re Pulse jet, it is similar PDE. You spray fuel into a detonation chamber, add air, close inlet and ignite. This is the simples amd one of the oldest jet engine tech.

The advanced version of pulse jet and PDE is scramjet, which the US has developed and used a long time now.
