Mostly in many places, Just like AR trails ..

This is probably 3rd intensive trail by Army ..

===================

Hope to see this in Army instead of an 9mm carbine ..

Amogh also made it through in Navy ..

hey kunal, where was this trial conducted?
awesome news, this should be the standard weapons for both law enforcement (police units) and for many in the army. Time for a massive order.

I t would be best to deploy MSMC and Amoghs among police forces,paramilitary and other forces which need less lethal weaapons coz the punching power of a SMG will not come any where near to that of an AK.Replace the carbines in army with AK and those in paramilitary with MSMCs and Amoghs.

It is true guys, AMOGH is being used in a limited way by navy and paramilitary.

This lightweight packs a punch - The Hindu

"A few thousand of these rifles have been taken by units in the paramilitary forces and the Indian Navy. But now, we are looking for demand from abroad for this latest carbine," Deepak Gupta of the OFB told The Hindu .

You have to use AK to know how it works, You have yet to study about role and place of Carbine ..

AK is used as its presently the only spray and pray wepion and better than those of 9mm cabine ..

Induction of MSMC will replace AK from CT roles, Remember 5.56x30mm have same velocity and penetration of 5.56x45mm ..

"We are replacing the conventional carbines with lightweight single hand firing capability MSMC, which has new ammunition. All technical trials are successfully over.
The MSMC, a 3 kg gun with optical sighting facility and laser pointer, has a 200m range and can be fired accurately using one hand only.The new MSMC is a 5.56 mm calibre gun with new propellants inside the ammunition..
Today, this weapon has accuracy that is within the Army's needs and it can penetrate through body armour of the enemy soldier," he said.

India's new Modern Submachine Carbine (MSMC) and 5.56x30mm Ammunition

The firearm chambers a round developed in India called the 5.56x30mm. This round is sometimes referred to as the "5.56x30mm INSAS" after the first gun to chambered the round, the INSAS Carbine.

Those of you who follow the industry closely may recall that Colt developed a round named the 5.56x30mm MARS during the 90"²s as part of their now defunct Mini Assault Rifle project. I imagine the INSAS cartridge is very similar. The Colt patent describes the MARS cartridge:

The MARS cartridge is designed as part of the weapon system and exploits the high energy densities of modern ball powders. It for the first time uses magnum pistol type powders burned at rifle pressures to achieve high rifle velocities in a short rifle barrel. It uses a fast ball powder to achieve 2600 ft/sec with a 55 gr full metal jacket projectile in only an 11 inch barrel.

The MARS cartridge/rifle was able to achieve similar ballistics as a ultra-short barreled 5.56x45mm NATO rifle
(I use the term rifle loosely, sub-carbine is more correct), but with less muzzle flash, noise and weight. The Indians went with the 5.56x30mm over the 5.56x45mm for these exact same reasons as Colt.

Out of a 11"³ barrel, the MARS Rifle was able to push a 55 grain bullet at 2600 fps, generating 825 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. For comparison, according to Wikipedia, the original Colt Commando (11"³ barreled sub-carbine) could push a bullet (presumably a 55 grain M193 Ball) at 2750 fps.

Sir, isn't MSMC in use already with SPG and NSG who are on VIP duty?

Only time will tell whether they will replace aks and btw 5.56 insas are not issued in large numbers to CT ops due to its inferior power compared to M43 ammo.Allso i had heard from many veterans worked in army and CRPF that AKs if fired in short bursts will hit tagets over a distance oof 150 mts with great precision.

@Kunal Biswas

Did you get a chance to try out the MSMC? Also, is the internal mechanics similar to INSAS assault rifle i.e. scaled down version of INSAS assault rifle.. or have they made significant changes\improvements to it?
Also, does it fire from an open bolt or closed bolt position?

No, MSMC is not yet issued to Army, So no way trying it on range ..

MSMC is different than INSAS both externally and Internally, Where as Amogh is scale down version of INSAS ..

Both weapon are closed bolt..
