The basic philosophy here is,scope mounts or 1913 pic rail has to be directly connected to the barrel to hold zero, like ar or other scar type platforms.

The above methods you mentioned are all hinge mechanism, which needs to be swing open and closed which might cause slight shift in zeroing
Due to wear on gunk getting inside the mechanism, or the scope weight itself cause them loosen over period of time.

Just recoil is enough them to vibrate.

The heavier the optic, higher the problem.

This is my understanding from reading from those gun reviews.

Im sure johnybaba might add some more points to it.
Best thing is if upper reaceiver is connected to barrel, but since AK doesnt have that, pinning the upper receiver is next best thing. Yes, there might be some shift, but its really little even if you open up the hinge full then close again. Look up AK203 firing tests (though they probably show the best case)

Agree about wear causing accuracy loss over time. That cant be solved without changing the design to move barrel to upper receiver.

Why would US marines be running AKs in afghanistan? Those are AK handguards.
MARSOC does it very often - best way to hide the presence of foreign troops is to use locally available small arms. How do you differentiate one pile of 7.62x39 catridges from another?

Pakistan wont buy AK kits from US - not when their own factories do a good enough job and chini chacha is always there.
These kits came even before we had Tavors .So most probably they bought it to combat terrorism. Also chinese started making rails and stuff very lately. These rails are very similar to the ones with ssg from late 2000s.

So US are doing a covert op by stamping an US exclusive sticker in their Aks?😀
arreh bhaisaab. No soldier wants to die in the field, let alone SF units. At the same time, of course US SF, being used to the benefits of the AR's modularity would want same standard on any gun they use. I can bring forth picture evidence but just dont want to bother with the same.

Stolen gear from dead ISAF soldiers making their way into the hands of jihadis is not new, if anything its the de facto way for them to get NODs and tac-coms.

And that is a far more simpler explanation for these gun mods than pak army buying these when their own factories and chini maal is available for far cheaper

What are those scopes ?
I would guess magnifying scope coupled with thermals/nv.

As for model, I can guess the ID

Bottom left & top right is Zero Compromise Optics - ZC527 , a variable power 5-27 x scope

Top left and bottom right is Vortex Razor HD GEN III 6-36X56 FFP , a variable power 6-36 x scope

The thermal/nv has no identifying info so cant give any info of model.
