If pilot is medically fit afterward, isn't it huge loss to not have him fly again? Training fighter pilots are not cheap and loosing one with combat + kill experience is far greater loss..

I personally think it is more of a psychological issue. It is a very traumatic experience being captured by a barbaric enemy like Pakistan which is known to torture and mutilate POWs. If you were talking about an enemy like warrior goddess of Amazon, that would be a whole different issue; you won't mind being captured again and again.

It was 11 years ago. At home I was crying in front of TV, when 10 terrorist held my country hostage for more than 60 hours and that too in financial capital of this country. Over 170 died and my leadership did nothing.

Today 1 pilot stuck behind enemy lines and they had to surrender him in less than 60 hours.

We are in for a long haul. There needs to be sustained effort to degrade Pakistan to a level where it can never pose a threat to us. This is what Congress failed to do. I am hoping BJP will do this if we Indians are bright enough to keep BJP in power.
