Oh yes, definitely. Only a stupid Paki will write the kind of comment that he has written. He thinks we cannot see through him. Only a Paki will think that Pakistan has anything worthwhile to offer India, and say things like "imagine how strong we will be if we are together". They don't realize that their country is just a big liability and nothing else.Hè is one of those paki who lived abroad pretending Indian
The Indian Ocean is going to be the theatre where great power politics will be at its most pristine in the coming years. China's new naval strategy of "far sea defense" is aimed at giving Beijing the ability to project its power in key oceanic areas, including and most significantly the Indian Ocean. China has fired the first salvo. Others will have to react seriously if they want to retain their role in the region. India's interest in Iran's ChahBahar port is often viewed as a response to China's presence in Gwadar. But where China's ability to execute its projects in foreign lands in a time-bound and financially viable manner is becoming impressive by the day, India's lacklustre approach to infrastructure development remains a major problem.
The notion that China aspires to naval domination of the Indian Ocean remains a bit far-fetched. China would certainly like to play a greater role in the region, protect and advance its interests, especially Chinese commercial interests, as well as counter India. But given the immense geographical advantages that Indian enjoys in the Indian Ocean, China will have great difficulty in rivalling India in the Indian Ocean. Even the task of SLOC protection remains a challenging one for the PLA Navy as of now. It will be a long while before China can convert these facilities into military ports.
But those who are arguing that China will not be able to develop the port into a military base are missing the point. If China is able to develop Gwadar and other such facilities in the Indian Ocean around India's periphery into viable strategic outposts, India's options will be constrained very significantly. And given close defence ties between China and Pakistan, New Delhi would be fooling itself if it believes that Beijing needs an actual military base in Gwadar to project power vis-Ã -vis India.
In Nepal, China is building a $14 million "dry port" at Larcha, near the Tibet border, along with five other ports and is upgrading transport links with an eye to the huge Indian market.
In Bangladesh, China is one of four countries, including India, Japan and the United States, interested in building a $5 billion deep-sea port at Sonadia island in the Bay of Bengal, according to the shipping ministry. Sri Lanka in June 2012 opened a new $450 million deep-sea port at Hambantota, close to the vital east-west sea route used by around 300 ships a day, built with Chinese loans and construction expertise.
Although China has no equity stake in Hambantota, they have taken up an 85 per cent slice of Colombo International Container Terminals Limited, which is building a new container port adjoining the existing Colombo harbour.
Beijing is also a key backer of a port and energy pipeline in Myanmar that will transport gas pumped offshore and oil shipped from Africa and the Middle East to China's Yunnan province, due to be finished by the end of May.
no exaggeration at all - just as in the past the asian republics were under the soviet union we are seeing a new-repeat phenomenon ---- this time voluntarily placing themselves under CCP "protection" .... the point is that when the protection is no longer needed , can you ask them to leave ?It is wonderful.
China has taken over POK and they are taking over South Pakistan.
One wonders what they will call this area that was Pakistan.
They love changing names to Han stuff like they have done for Tibet and Xinjiang!

What can u write other than go ad hominem? He's not even living abroad...
where does he live then??He's not even living abroad...
China and Pakistan are partners for the mutual good on equal footing. Pakistan doesn't need 'protection'. Mind u by the way USSR had been very progressive in contrast to what Central Asian states are like presently.no exaggeration at all - just as in the past the asian republics were under the soviet union we are seeing a new-repeat phenomenon ---- this time voluntarily placing themselves under CCP "protection" .... the point is that when the protection is no longer needed , can you ask them to leave ?

Maybe you need to actually look up the meaning of "ad hominem" before throwing around such words. What can u write other than go ad hominem?

Blackwater and I were convinced that the poster in question was a Paki, because of the Pakistaniyat dribbling from his comment. We can smell the stink from a mile off. But we guessed that he is a Paki living abroad. LurkerBaba just informed us that the Paki is actually a Desi Paki, sitting in Pakhanaland. What is the "ad hominem" in that?
Two years later, maybe China is aware?Pakistan's former defence minister Ahmad Mukhtar said in May 2011 that China had agreed to take over port operations at Gwadar.
He also said Islamabad would be "more grateful to the Chinese government if a naval base was being constructed at the site of Gwadar for Pakistan". At the time, China's foreign ministry said it was unaware of any such request.
further explanation :- many countries invite a stronger partner to help , but when it's time to leave may not be so easy .......no exaggeration at all - just as in the past the asian republics were under the soviet union we are seeing a new-repeat phenomenon ---- this time voluntarily placing themselves under CCP "protection" .... the point is that when the protection is no longer needed , can you ask them to leave ?
What inherited ? Show me where Tibetan signed their lands to China. Chinese people should read their own history than typing one liner slogans, but then its a systemic brainwashing at work.......India inheritated claims from British India. Same goes for Qing-China. Cant be that hard to understand.
Lol!!Dear all, U all talking foolish. Never underestimate the power of your enemy. Pakistan army and military is strong enough. Dont forget that Pakistan is more bigger nuclear and missile power as compare to India. All international institutes and research organizations admit that Pakistani missiles are far more powerful, accurate and speedy as compare to India. By 2016, Pakistan will be bigger nuclear power than Britain. We, India cannot block Pakistani ocean or any port. Pakistan military is powerful and we admit or not, Indian army don't even think to fight with Pakistan Military. Dont forget that in war of 1965, Pakistani navy far weaker than Indian NAvy, but Pakistan Navy destroyed our Dawarka port completely.
I think china's taking over Gawadar port is purely for economic purpose but if any war break out between China and India, China can used Gawadar port for its NAVY purpose. There is no doubt that statically, Gawadar port is located on most important sea point in Asia. We , indians should think to finsih the poverty in our country, instead we talk to fight with Pakistan. Keep this in mind, Pakistan and India will never fight again. How can India fight with Nuclear power. This is true that Indian Military is far more powerful in conventional weapons as compare to Pakistan, but this is also true that Pakistan is much bigger Nuclear and Missile power than India. So, there is equal balance between both Militarily. Lets both Indian and Pakistan try to get rid of poverty from both countries. Just think, if Indian and Pakistan become friends, how can be powerful these two nations in terms of military as well as economic.
