Jabalpur, March 25: A day after an explosion at the ordnance factory in Itarsi, a major fire and blast has rocked the ordnance factory in Jabalpur district in Madhya Pradesh. The huge fire broke out on Saturday evening in which 20 people were injured and many are feared trapped inside the factory. More than 520 fire tenders are on spot.
The fire brigade officials, superintendent of police (SP) and district collector of Jabalpur have rushed to the spot and other emergency services have been kept on alert. Some eyewitness said that the fire was so huge that the flames were visible from far away places in the district.
A government official said that a fire broke out at the ordnance factory nad some fifty fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to douse the flames. Initial report suggests some workers are trapped inside the factory and necessary measures have been taken by the authority to rescue them.
According to Time of India, some workers noticed smoke coming out of the factory on Saturday evening after which fire brigade was called. “There are no reports of any casualties and as of now fire tenders are fighting to douse the flames,” a fire brigade official was quoted.
On Friday morning a similar incident took place when people living close to ordnance factory in Hoshangabad were woken up by a loud noise.
