Looks like they are sacrificing hongkong market to save their US market.
Uhhh I believe we're being unduly optimistic. Since HK is under China now, they'll just roll out the Chinese version of TikTok is what they mean. They can't have a freer TikTok in annexed HK.

One thing that India (and rest of the world) should immediately do is start making precursor components required for making medicines that currently have to be imported from China. India makes the medicines, but still needs to import the precursor chemicals from China. I believe China was threatening to cut off these medicine precursor components to India (in the middle of a pandemic they created) as a way to blackmail India. This is one way that China can hold the world hostage in the future, unless the world stops relying on China.

in india's case it is not an issue, GoI can simply order one of many PSU's to pick up the slack in manufacturing pharma API's, until private sector is ready to manufacture them with in the country. it's not the case that private sectors are not capable of manufacturing what's coming out of china, it's just some some of the quantities for certain medicines are not profitable relative to the demand.

This is a solvable problem, it's just a matter of time. India has enough pharma parks around country.
