Naxal violence was less close to Kanha and core forest areas.Balaghat and nearby areas were always Naxal hotbed, as far as I remember.
More pronounced towards south of the state bordering Dongargarh, Gondia, Chattisgarh, Maha border areas.
Lately, naxals have moved into core areas of Kanha and surrounding buffer zone but Maha HM keeping mum. There have been multiple incidents in the last 2-3 years including murders of forest personnel by naxals.
Security of Central India is critical and under no circumstances should it be allowed to become a maoist no-go zone.
Kanha Tiger Reserve under dreaded naxals grip Union Forest Minister urges CM for swift action
In a letter addressed to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Union Forest Minister had highlighted that Sukhdev, a forest worker in the area, was killed by the Naxals on March 22 on the suspicion of being an informer. He had further requested the CM to launch a thorough investigation into the matter.
