Just posting videos from the days when Indian Army infantry was as well (or better) equipped than western infantry. 2nd and 3rd videos are actually informative.

The requirement for over 3000 howitzers was raised post Kargil in 1999 itself but till date remain unfulfilled and is a long saga in itself. Also, I do not agree with the army centric approach of Mr. Naravane. The side which has air and naval superiority is sure to win. This was proved in the British and American warfare against Nazi Germany in World War-II and again during the Gulf war in 1991. If we lack air superiority our supply lines will be severed and the front line troops would become sitting ducks.

Finding these BPJs is like spotting an exotic bird. A bit more coherence in procurement would go a long way.

Maybe the shelf life of those garbage BPJs is still not over that they keep on using them. Anyways slowly but steadily we are transitioning.
doesn't seem armasen
Can you identify the BPJ. Thanks
Seemed similar to those used in Indo Japan Miliary Experience. Atleast these are better than the ones currently in full scale deployment.
No way. India is self sufficient in BPJs.

Army doesn't go for shopping on Kashmir Bazar on Sundays πŸ˜†
See the Shoulder Strap, you’ll get your answer. @AlphaRaiderZ can you id the other plate carrier?

We may be self-sufficient in Bullet Proof Vests, but with quality comes higher costs, this leads to units and individual soldiers resorting to purchasing Chinese made vests and plate carriers from local stores in Cantonments and Garrisons.

It was easy to kit out soldiers when films were still running black and white

Our budget was also far lower at the time but we ensured our boys matched British and American troops till the early 80s, despite having a massive army. Hell, they were better equipped than the French troops. It's about priorities.
