F-22s escorted Jordanian fighters for airstrikes in Syria

U.S. Air Force F-22s and F-16CJs escorted Jordanian fighters for recent airstrikes in Syria, the Pentagon said Friday.

The American stealth jets are now part of the "standard strike package" used by U.S. and coalition aircraft in the fight against the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq, Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren said.

Jordan's airstrike on targets in Hasakah included dozens of weapons releases targeting multiple storage and staging facilities. U.S. officials in the U.S. Central Command combined air operations center tasked the F-22s and F-16s for escort of the Jordanian aircraft. Additional U.S. support included unmanned aircraft for intelligence and surveillance, Warren said.

Syrian Su-24s attempting to fly close to U.S. Special Forces in Syria get intercepted and “encouraged to leave” by F-22 Raptors

Two Syrian Su-24 Fencer attempting to fly over a Kurdish-held area in northeastern Syria where U.S. SOF (Special Operations Forces) are operating, get intercepted by U.S. F-22 and encouraged to depart the airspace.
On Aug. 18, U.S. jets were dispatched to intercept the Syrian attack planes that were attacking targets near Hasakah supporting regime forces fighting the Syrian Kurdish forces. About 300 U.S. military operate in the same area, training Kurdish forces who are fighting Daesh.
Following the first “close encounter” the Pentagon warned Assad regime to not fly or conduct raids in the area where the American SOF are operating. However, on Aug. 19, two Su-24 Fencers, attempted again to penetrate the airspace near Hasakah.
This time, the two Syrian Arab Air Force attack planes were met by American F-22 Raptors (most probably already operating in the same area providing Combat Air Patrol).

An amazing video clip of F-22 doing somersault at low altitude, illustrating its excellent nose pointing ability:

This one's fast enough, but is this high speed?..
Those are different maneuvers. But overall the Su-35 should maneuver more tightly than F-22 as it has the advantage of 3D TVC. But exactly how useful it is in actual air combat is highly doubtful.

Su 35 BM -> +/- 15 degrees (pitch/yaw)

F 22 -> +/- 20 degrees (pitch)

This week there was an incident with the F-22 #Raptor of the #US Air Force.

The exact reasons are unknown, but the source of The War Zone said that the aircraft too early removed the chassis and slipped on the runway. The pilot successfully catapulted.
