That image is old and outdated..the new figures are in another image that shows a vast range of weapons that can be loaded on each pylon..The outboard pylons are now rated for max 310 kg each.

This image also makes it clear that HAL calls the Tejas trainer as Lead-In Fighter Trainer. Hence HLFT-42 designation for an internal HAL project to develop a LIFT from the Tejas trainer.

What advantage Australia or any other country will have is that Tejas LIFT will come with lots of combat capabilities in a trainer. This will be a big bonus. 2 in 1. Even trainer tejas will have more combat capabilities than sonething like Chinese JF 17.
Since Australia is closer to USA, I feel they’ll go for an American trainer.

Yes. Simply put- there is no LIFT on earth with an AESA radar. The HLFT-42 will almost certainly come with that option (users can choose not to go with one to reduce cost), and the weapons integrations are also done, including some serious BVRAAM weapons. Other LIFTs like the M-346, Hawk and L-15 can't match up in terms of weapons, avionics or performance.

Yes, when there are no other light fighters which can match Tejas, thrre is no question that any other trainer will match it.

Is there any other light combat aircraft which can carry such load and perform air policing like fa30 etc jf17 can only carry mere 2 bvr.
Are you sure fa50 and jf17 can only carry two BVR at once??

Gripen c/d could do the same I believe which is now gripen ng in bigger form.

Jf17 can only carry 2 bvr

The JF-17’s main weakness is its limited BVR loadout as it has the ability to only carry four BVR missiles, unlike the Indian Su-30MKI which can carry eight or more.
