If we have a war with china in near future, our airforce is going to get outclassed real bad.

Severely lacking awacs, refuellers, dedicated ew aircrafts and only 36 4.5 gen aircrafts with proper bvr combat capability. 👿
our pilots and geo advantage will save us but this is not the way ,a aspiring superpower thinks!

China has been working hard to overcome their geo disadvantage. I posted a thread yesterday which details this, where they have increased number of runways, length of runways, and air to air refuellers (so that planes can take off with minimal fuel to reduce weight).

chinese have done gr8 work with thier sukhoi , su 30mki can be made a very capable plane but it would need a qwip based irst ,aesa , upgraded digital that can passively provide a firing solution with interferometry tech , and net centric capabilities using upgraded datalinks and cockpit and sensor fusion ,and all of these are implemented in f15ex
The point is our own sensors and radars are not fully developed foe su 30mki but if we are aggressive these things won't take time but the points who is aggressive........... iaf impossible they only become serious when shit hits fan and next time the enemy won't give you any chances and that will be do and die situation
Until and unless we lose a war due to iaf nothing is gonna change and I can't see Super sukhoi before 2027 as this is our fucking attitude 😤
Slow slow upgrades when the plane starts retiring
Really pathetic situation nothing else and won't come out until 2035 till then keep saying enemy 'let's fight latter'

btw why aren't we upgrading sukhois with indegenious ew suites (not podded) and uttam aesa ,becoz mrfa seems a distant dream until we order additional rafales that will still not come by 2027
This will require Russian permissions and airworthy recertification. It is a big process and AF seems to be confused with what is the way forward.

This is the same BS argument that was used Pakistani when IAF has edge over PAF.
WHat makes you think IAF pilots are better than PLAAF or IAF has better platform than PLAAF.
We should not get bogged down with this thinking. Their is no shame to accept PLAAF has edge over IAF. Rather we should work on effectively countering PLAAF and try to achieve total air-dominance over them.

Marginal advantage of skill to our pilots. IAF seems to have performed well in most exercises with western countries, whose jets are on par or better than chinese jets. And chinese fighters reportedly performed very badly in unpredictable scenarios, such as the loss of AEWACS etc in the limited exercises they took part in.

To be more clear about this whole thing , before mk1a delivery , we will get trainer delivery , plus the production line for mk2 can be expanded in existing infra too
i asked this specific Q regarding Mk2 production to Saurav Jha once on his youtube podcast...he seems to be farely convinced that HAL has enugh jigs to start mk2 production in parallel...also, we assume that HAL will stay put to bare minimum of 16/yr target...5 years is a long time...entire production facilities can be built by then! no need to be harsh at this stage

the difference being that india and other western nations invest a lot about their pilots cause we all are democracies...CHINA isnt! they have won all historical conflicts using human waves...what makes aerial engagement any different?...and now they have AI and UAVs to saturate our air defenses...and otherwise...they wudnt mind sending pilots to risky missions in hostile airspaces with low chance of success...because their wud be no accountability. initialy the president was accountable to the politburo and other factions...Xi has decimated all opponents...if they can get away with dishonouring their fallen at galwan...what stops from doing that in air combat?

In air combat, pilot experience is key. When you put newbies into planes and tell them to go, they get massacred by experienced pilots.

funny thing is...in days to come...there will be no pilots in the cockpit...and even to convert old fighters to UCAVs you need more fighters to begin with....also the WW2 is a good example...the later phases of war the imperial japan pilots were neither experienced or had any combat record... the ZERO was poorly armoured vs the hurricanes of marines...but they sunk many allied warships...its not like american didnt have the tech for kamikaze...but their military culture didnt allow for that!

Kamikazi attacks got outdated quick, the only reason people remember them is the brutal aspect of it. In reality, kamikazes got butchered by flak and patrol airplanes once they figured out their tricks. Nowadays kamikazi airplanes are possible only in things like trainers converted to autonomous bombs.

We don't have bhramos, army, navy, air defense specially s400 and pad, aad, akash, pralay, for republic day parade.

War won't be limited to AF, china, pak will also be obliterated if india goes all out.

China won't do shit, they have no guts. Everyone saw that in galwan.
