even a gujju science magazine had mentioned about China's interest in LCA project around 2004 times
here highlighted with red lines
Safari_Issue_129_October_2004_extracted.jpg

Article is a question from readers about in terms of performance how LCA Tejas compares with much renowned Eurofighter; and after comparative explanation the magazine praised tejas that even China had shown interest in it and had made a collaborative offer for making a LCA together...

if you are interested in reading it, use google lens to extract text and later translate it but at this stage we forum members know everything written here already so...yeah

It's engine failure, and even reignition not possible due to some factor.Btw pilot was trying to land on road strip that is why he manually opened the landing gear as APU too stopped working after a while(just got to know) but as there's hardly any open highway nearby.....
Now suddenly report will come on poor maintenance services of indian forces..

Damn, missed this news sad to hear of first Tejas crash o_O. I think Engine had critical failure probably due to FOD/bird strikes etc. Take off and Landing is always a bitch for single Engine fighters. God knows how many Solahs crashed in similar situations. Eitherway, I think we knew a day would come, yet pretty good safety record. Thank God, the Pilot made it. Pray we can avoid this in the future.

Fighter aircraft are highly unstable in design. more the design is unstable, the more the jet will be maneuverable

What does it mean?? It means Fighter jets do not glide; once they lose engine power, they just tumble down like stone.

Here, Tejas was flying fine. Engine sound was audible but UN generals is keep pushing Engine failure- Engine failure theory.

It was a practice crash. Period

Moreover, why only UN generals do such miracles which is extremely hard to explain?? there was no anomaly noticed while plane was still in flight.

No poor maintenance...Engine flameout mid air.
Hahahaha...... these are highly advanced engines, not your gas Chula in the kitchen which flamed out due to a small breeze.

Engine flames out usually happen when they are maneuvering on a high angle of attack or bird strike ( sudden disturbance in airflow )

Engine ON Doesn't deny the theory of engine failure..
It was making very less sound like they would do while taxing..
Most likely it wasn't producing enough thrust to keep aircraft in flight.

In fact, even if engine power is completely out, engine will keep spinning due to airflow on the blades (and thus making "engine noises"). Its one of the ways airplanes get electrical power when engine fails.

This is the level of discussion in DFI? An engine running idle on the tarmac produces sound that can be heard a KM away

What? This is not believable at all....what is it some dynamo on a bicycle

Honestly I was surpized when someone said engine sound was audible adn its low....that means nothing. Any number of things can go wrong and also it wont fall like a rock even if its unstable. That really depends on some other parameters

This is a non of way to power electronics. There is auxiliary power unit to supply power for electronics. Commercial airlines deploys auxiliary fan to power electronics during engine failure.

The electrical power thing is something I remember from an interview of a F22 pilot explaining about failsafes on airplanes... And talking about military airplanes specifically, not civilian ones.

That aside, the main point of the engine spinning is relatively obvious. Unless something causes the shafts to seize up, the blades will turn due to airflow.

Unlikely, lot of paramters like frequency and other aspects won't be able will go out of range. There is redundancies built into planes and generally some get priority like hydraulics but fbw is more fatal when all engines go out...luck factor is always there.

It is impossible for Chinese to be interested in LCA:
1. This kind of light fighter jet doesn't fit PLAAF's usage, for example, the range is not enough;
2. Around 1991, the first full size half metal model already finished, but the whole project was halted due to the engine issue until 1994 that Russians agreed to provide engine. (Chinese had to modify the J-10 design for the new engine).
