Alphabro says it's 28/32 aircraft per year.
At this rate the deliveries of mk1A would be over by 2028(not counting the extra 50 as not ordered as of yet).
HAL would have 1up on everyone crying about low speed of delivery then nice.
Hopefully more mk1A would be ordered then.

Yes. HAL has probably been internally conveyed or confident about extra tranche of 40-50 MK1a.

However, for this production rate to be realized an additional order of atleast 50 Tejas Mk1A will be needed.
Otherwise, 16-20 jets/yr would be the max production rate in order to keep costs down.

Impossible. These decisions have been winding their way from one sarkari table to the next among gazillion rounds of chai samosa before being finalized. Nothing here happens in a snap.

But it is an indicator that additional orders for Mk1A are coming.
