Will this take to 24 per year
32/year if you take into consideration the Kiran Hangar.
Assembly Line 1 -> 8/yr
Assembly Line 2 -> 8/yr
Assembly Line 3 -> 12/yr
Kiran Hangar -> 8/yr.

However, for this production rate to be realized an additional order of atleast 50 Tejas Mk1A will be needed.
Otherwise, 16-20 jets/yr would be the max production rate in order to keep costs down.

That's good news will these be later the ones responsible for producing mk2?

Yes 50 more mk1a is very logical choice now.
More importantly this 32 per year capacity will help in fulfilling mk2 orders very fast.

Impossible. These decisions have been winding their way from one sarkari table to the next among gazillion rounds of chai samosa before being finalized. Nothing here happens in a snap.

But it is an indicator that additional orders for Mk1A are coming.
