I saw a video saying that Tejas MK1A flight is already conducted on one existing Tejas MK1 with new changes.
It says the new prototype for MK1A was never planned, it was always about making changes to the existing one and using that as a test bed.
FOC Standard with serial number 26 is currently being used as a test bed.
here is the video on the exact timestamp.
It was always like that. There is no mk1a that will do first flight before 2024. Tejas sp-24 will be used to test mk1a components. The first proper mk1a to be delivered after 3 years from signing the contract

Hope we don't transfer all tech like good boys if this deal ever see sunlight
Like other nations tortured us and didn't transfer critical tech in name of tot hope we do the same
It shouldn't end like Egypt selling tejas like their own fighter by absorbing all tech
I think we shouldn't give that much of liberty to them to sell yeah that production line can produce aircrafts and they can have some % of profit but complete allowance to sell and negotiate I don't think it would be better for us
Others pls throw some light bit ignorant here
No country gives 100 % transfer of Technology in any case. The Russians or Israelis etc have not done it with India in the past and neither Will India do it with another country. If Egypt indeed acquires LCA Tejas in large numbers so that moving the production line to Egypt makes sense than we will make then assemble Tejas in the form of KDKs.

Ya'll Nibbiars

I've bought 2 shirts from them..one of an IAF Mirage-2000 and the other an IAF Rafale. Both shirts are of good quality and worth the price. Will get the Tejas one as well now.

It sounds like we are desperate to make a deal at any cost with whoever. Hard pass!
very welcome change from just a few years ago when fanboys would fap to twists & turns of the MMRCA process- just the process mind you with nothing really happening on the ground! Only updates on LCA were increase in # of test flights of the prototypes from one month to another.

Nauseating reading ex senior IAF officers openly spouting such BS

And if you notice almost all the harsh criticisms were about Kaveri which hasn’t been linked to LCA for decades so wtf is their agenda by conflating them?

One could go line by line through this article and debunk pretty much all of it but that’s not the point.

This is what they will say openly, imagine what they’ll say and do behind the scenes. Their culture is rotten to the core, they are so enamoured with imports and so self loathing that they simply won’t look anywhere else. That’s before you even talk about all the influence foreign OEMs have in these circles
I think much of it has to do with the 'tradition' and 'culture' of our armed forces which are more british than the current british forces. There is probably a crying need to de-racinate the upper brass and maybe the officer training methodology (being a gentleman etc.. etc..)

INDIA OFFERS TO SET UP PRODUCTION FACILITIES FOR TEJAS, CHOPPERS IN EGYPT
India has offered to set up production facilities for the manufacturing of light combat aircraft (LCA) as well as helicopters in Egypt as it pursues export opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa region reported Economic Times.

A series of high-level engagements have taken place with the nation and the Egyptian Air Force chief is expected to visit India in a few days, during which expertise in manufacturing as well as maintenance of aircraft fleet will be showcased.

Sources said the Egyptian Air Force has a requirement of close to 70 light combat jets, with a focus on local production and technology transfer. At present, the nation operates a mixed fleet of US, French and Russian origin jets and has been keen on setting up aeronautical manufacturing facilities.

India Emerges Frontrunner For Malaysian its LCA Requirement

India has emerged as the frontrunner for a Malaysian requirement of light combat aircraft, with a package deal on the table that would include maintenance and spares for the nation's Russian origin Su 30MKK fighter jets.

India has offered an attractive financial package for its TEJAS Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and has committed that it can keep Malaysia's fleet of Su-30 jets flightworthy, given the vast spares reserve and technical expertise available with HAL.

Senior teams from the Malaysian air force have visited India in the past to discuss the proposal. India is also offering to create a full maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for the LCA fleet in Malaysia to ensure a high rate of availability.
