First flight are done. No reason for delay. Drama going on.Today is Mar29, soon it will be Apr30...just saying
May be HAL ironing out issues found out in first flightFirst flight are done. No reason for delay. Drama going on.
There's procedures to oberve between FF & delivery.May be HAL ironing out issues found out in first flight
Unlikely. With standard production those kind of delays are last possible explanation. It seems issue should be more of additional integration than anything else. Derby er integration was discussed with delivery itself. That might be one road block.May be HAL ironing out issues found out in first flight
They are not going with python if i remember correctly after vibration issues in another trials. There's procedures to oberve between FF & delivery.
And if you hadn't noticed, THERE'S NO PAINT on these Tejas yet. @Ghost hale is probably right. They'll deliver in a batch of 6-8.
They are trying again apparently..They are not going with python if i remember correctly after vibration issues in another trials.
Beats me ! When we have homegrown platform like Astra which can be relatively easily integrated due to our ownership of the source code, IAF is forcing HAL to try python which had problems. Why ?They are trying again apparently..
Being already integrated, is keeping Derby-Python in lead.Beats me ! When we have homegrown platform like Astra which can be relatively easily integrated due to our ownership of the source code, IAF is forcing HAL to try python which had problems. Why ?
Different roles. One is CCM other is BVR.Beats me ! When we have homegrown platform like Astra which can be relatively easily integrated due to our ownership of the source code, IAF is forcing HAL to try python which had problems. Why ?
MK2 seems better option but not sure which one will be cheaper. No updates on python-5 also. Not sure if dog fights are even possible in current tech scenario.Being already integrated, is keeping Derby-Python in lead.
IAF might prefer the dual pulse Derby-ER over Astra for Tejas... which would make it out most potent BVR platform right now. In which case all ADA will have to do is overcome the flutter issues of Python-5. And they'll get a better CCM than R-73 without any extra integration hassle (like in case of ASRAAM).
in th 60's it was the USAF point of view.... until Vietnam. Not sure if dog fights are even possible in current tech scenario.
If u are caught up in dog fight even in highly contested air space of so called world war 3 with all the "electronic counter measure ambiance" not sure what it means, then already a million things have went wrong. I am discussing from the point of of usage and time investment on 20 KM range missile. Lastly, Vietnam war is 45 years old. Its a very bad example for modern warfare.in th 60's it was the USAF point of view.... until Vietnam.
Next war (I'm not speaking of a small embush between few jets over Nepal... but a real world war III) will be made in a huge electronic counter measures ambiance. Are all we sure all the weapons will do the job properly? I have a big doubt. So it is a nice insurrance to have an agile fighter....
How about the skirmish over LoC following Operation Swift Retreat? Dog fight can never go out of fashion! If u are caught up in dog fight even in highly contested air space of so called world war 3 with all the "electronic counter measure ambiance" not sure what it means, then already a million things have went wrong. 'R-73 selected', what's your point?check missile package and missiles fired.

I was talking about effectiveness. Same result achieved with 2 missiles that day. One with low risk kill and another with high risk kill. AMRAAM and R73.'R-73 selected', what's your point?
