“I am very happy to be in front of the 20th plane made between Korea and Peru. Let it be an example for our industry and our technology to advance,” said the head of state at the Las Palmas Air Base of the Peruvian Air Force.
“This is the result of a State policy; a policy that we are going to follow, of having a strong, well-organized and well-equipped defense,” added the President of the Nation.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense, Jorge Nieto Montesinos; the general commander of the FAP, Air General Javier Ramírez Guillén; the Korean ambassador to Peru, Jang Geun Ho; and the president of the Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) company, Ha Sung Yong, among other guests.
The aircraft is part of the 20 acquired for pilot training based on a Government-to-Government contract signed between Peru and the Republic of Korea in November 2012, which also included technology transfer, a parts manufacturing plant and a flight simulator. flights.
According to the agreement, the first four aircraft were manufactured at KAI's facilities in Korea; while the other 16 have been co-produced by KAI and the Maintenance Service of the Peruvian Air Force (Seman), in our country.
