Indian Navy Destroyers are getting named after cities.
Indian navy Frigates are getting named after hill ranges, rivers etc.
Wait and u might see a destroyer after a punjab city too.

No Ship till date has been named after a state..
so don't cry on discrimination.

Frigates on hill, ranges, rivers etc and destroyers on cities..patrol boats on islands..
this is what is being followed..haven't seen anu ship (indian) names after a state.
note - Delhi isn't a state still, why do thing kaejri keep on crying and he has no control on delhi police?

Shivalik and Delhi are city and mountain ranges. There is no ship named after a state.

It is looking nice. Very modern. In the future I envision a Zumwalt class destroyer under the banner of India. One day, that will happen. I don't know when, but it will definitely happen.

there is no sea at north india and so there never been any naval forces throughout their military history but nice they getting ships are affiliated with those regiments .

There was a ship known as INS Sutlej back in time after India just got independent.

There was also a ship known as HMIS Amritsar but was decommissioned in 1947.
