It is the learning process that takes the most time. Once you learn it, everything will go faster and smoother the second time. No getting around it. No shortcuts.

Americans and Russians did that. But remember, they did that part back in the 60s and 70s and India haven't started out. Now we are doing this.

Soft landing a robot on other planet isn't a little deal.

Why is Business Standard reporting a very possible Chandrayaan launch in June? Are they just adding the previous announcement of a June launch, with the recent successful testing of the EMI/EMC system? A bit sloppy and careless, if so.

Why is Business Standard reporting a very possible Chandrayaan launch in June? Are they just adding the previous announcement of a June launch, with the recent successful testing of the EMI/EMC system? A bit sloppy and careless, if so.

It's just previous statement, what I have posted earlier is said by retd ISRO scientist

Recently launched microsat which included many experimental payload one is for possible unknown upcoming sigint sat for radar detection
Other one that use to track in air aricraft is likely for gsat20 who will perform same task it will be launched 2024
This is why microsat type small sat excites me they are like window to what is isro planning or will be launching soon

If its get success, ISRO should attempt mars landing in next.
ISRO will attempt a sample return mission to moon after it as they have stated in their long term plan.
There will be no Mars landing before 2035.

Mars unlike Moon, has an atmosphere and will require completely different kind of technologies to penetrate atmospheric friction and have a soft landing.

Just imagine how the Soviets managed to land Lukhod 1 in 70s and then managed to run it for a whopping 10 kilometers and all that was done using 3rd gen computers.

ISRO can do, can create new team on that. Just depend on budget ! nothing else.

If m sure , if ISRO get budget , will able to do it.

Its not that easy as we may think
Problem with liquid fuel in space is that it is elastic meaning it can expand due to lack of pressure so it needs to stay pressurized in order to function and that carries a weight penalty. Furthermore, it can crystalize in very cold temperature leading to blockage thus necessitating thermal management system to keep the liquid at desired temperature thereby carrying a weight penalty. It's not such a big deal when you are dealing with a big system such as a booster stage or second stage. However when you are dealing with a payload and every ounce matters, weight management & simplicity takes a higher degree of importance in order to keep the weight penalty down.
